WEST Donors Are Our Heroes
Why does the donor become a hero at WEST? Let Kara answer that question.
#westinc #westgeorgia #autism Ms. Gaye is our #Hippotherapy #speechtherapy facilitator. It's taken four months to teach this kid how to throw a ball. She started the process.
#westinc #westgeorgia #autism #resiliency #autism #socialskills This kid started out shaking like a leaf today. She ended by playing catch, learning to use her eyes to tell her pony where to go, and how to hold reins properly.
When this autistic kid started with WEST, she was coming for development of social skills and big time emotional regulation skills. She was hitting other kids if they didn't want to play with her. Her first two months here, we had to get through a few biting/kicking/screaming temper tantrums. And then a switch flipped. She had weekly improvements until she had a whole week of successful emotional regulation situations. When she accomplished that only a month ago, she got to ride. Look at her now!
#westinc #westgeorgia #equineassistedtherapy their bond continues to grow. James is learning to steer with seat and leg. Rush is responding. š„°
#westinc #westgeorgia #resiliency it only took four minutes for this guy to pick up those big, heavy feet and clean them.
#westinc #westgeorgia #resiliency Can you name the resiliency skills required to be successful with this #equineassistedactivity?
#westinc #westgeorgia #autism this mom has seen changes in her son in the last few months.
