My heart is sad. Just like with humans, spiders age and become Senior Spiders. This special girl is Iris. She is a regius, and is gentle and sweet, having had one failed clutch and never having anymore fertile clutches. Even without babies, she is loved and cared for because she is a part of our spider family. Her abdomen is quickly shrinking, she refuses to eat, walks very slowly, and so all I can do is love her until she goes to Heaven. She truly enjoys exploring my hands at her own pace. I know it makes her happy because it’s the only time she makes any effort to move about. Despite being a Senior, her curiosity and wonder is still here. Love your Senior and molt disabled spiders. They are worth it. Their lives still hold value. Priceless, to me. 🥹🥰
