Today marks one year when I received the call that you were lost. It has been 365 days of missing you and wishing you were still next to me, being my cuddle bug, and following me around.

You were only supposed to be dog-sat for 4 days. It was day 3. It still makes me so upset that you were taken 25 miles away from home without a familiar person or sense of home. I’ll always regret the day I left you home instead of taking you with us.

Teddy, you will always be my soul dog. I’m sending love wherever you and praying you’re happy and being such a good boy.

“To get a dog is to open yourself to profound joy and, prospectively, to equally profound sadness.” – Marjorie Garberare

I dreamt this week that you were found and home. 😢

I find myself thinking of you during the day and missing you more. I don’t want time to move. I don’t want 2023 to be here without you by my side.

Praying we find answers this year and Teddy is brought home safely. 🐾🤍🖤🤍

Happy Friday!

Sorry we have been quiet. Teddy is still missing, but we are not giving up hope that he is somewhere safe. Lost at Barton Creek West 25 miles from home. Last seen running down the street in Barton Creek West in Austin Tx. Lost while in the supposed care of a dog sitter employed by WAG.

Trackers were able to pick up his scent in the area with no evidence of an attack.

Teddy could have been picked up by anyone. He is chipped and should he be taken to a vet and scanned, we will be notified.

We are working on a few things and will update the group soon.

Keep a look out for a black and white shih tzu approximately 13 lbs. He’s spoiled and only eats chicken and rice with veggies or his kibble with a sprinkle of his favorite kong flavor. He likes to play fetch, but mainly hangs out with mom.

I miss him so much. My life is not the same without him. He was definitely an emotional support and a very beloved family member.

Thank you for the support.

Denise

~ tonight my son fell asleep watching tv with us in the living room.. he randomly woke up and went to grab Teddys picture frame and hugged it tightly. He said “dad, I miss him… we need to bring him home”. The same seven year old who always says that “ daddy fixes everything “ … today I was left speechless and powerless … all I could do was promise him once again that we will never stop fighting for him or give up on trying to find Teddy!

Please, if anyone sees him or may know where he’s at.. please let us know. He’s not just our pet.. Thaddeus James is part of our family!! 😞

Having a young child and losing Teddy is so hard. What can we do to help him cope through the pain?

Anyone have suggestions? As a former educator, I’ve given him possible scenarios, but I’m hurting just as much as he is. Praying everyday we find Teddy. We are not giving up!

Please help Find Izzie 🤍

🐾 missing under suspicious circumstances

Izzie was picked up for training on April 11, 2022, by qualified dog trainer Zac Carman of Archangel K9. Trainer Zac Carman and owner Chris Minnick of Archangel K9 were highly recommended by several coworkers who used them to train their family dogs. They also work with local law enforcement K9 officers.

Izzie was supposed to stay with Zac for four weeks for a board and train to work on leash walking and how to not jump on people. Zac said he would post training updates on Snapchat and keep in touch by text messages. I messaged Zac each week to check on Izzie, and as week four ended, I asked about her progress. Zac said he had been sick and asked for more time to work with Izzie. He also recommended her for agility training. I asked him to send me more information about the agility training, and he did not. After an additional week, I asked how Izzie was doing and again about the agility program. He said Izzie was doing well and would email me the information, but he still did not.

After a communication breakdown, I told Zac I missed her and wanted to get her home. On May 24, 2022, Zac said he could drop her off that weekend. We made plans for him to drop Izzie off at home on Sunday, May 29.

On May 28, around 9 pm, Zac texted me to ask if he could call me. He called and told me that Izzie was stolen. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene when Zac called. I was given directions to meet MCSO at their office in The Woodlands to complete a statement and provide them with information about Izzie.

Zac states that he uses the parking lot and garage near Landry’s in The Woodlands (1212 Lake Robbins Dr) to do distraction training. Zac states he arrived around 7 pm with 4 dogs, three in the backseat of his truck in kennels and Izzie in a kennel in the bed of his truck. He watered the dogs and took one dog out to start training. The ONLY camera in this area caught him walking a dog around 7:22 pm in front of Woodforest Bank ATM. When he was on Lake Robbins near the parking garage entrance, Zac reports a white female in her 40s or 50s with short, blonde hair approached him and was upset about the dogs being left in his truck and that the e-collar was cruel. Zac identified himself as a dog trainer, thanked her for her input, and continued training. When he arrived back at his truck, Izzie was gone. Zac states the kennel in the bed of the truck where Izzie was held was open, the tailgate of the truck down, and he found the collars tossed in the brush behind the truck. He briefly looked for Izzie in the surrounding area and then called MCSO just before 8 pm to report her stolen.

May 28th was Buzz Fest at The Woodlands Pavilion. Thousands of people were in the area that night.

Early evening on Sunday, May 29, Zac and Chris met me at Landry’s to walk through the route Zac took. As mentioned, the only camera in this area was at Woodforest Bank ATM.

On Monday, May 30, Zac met with local news reporters for the stories broadcast on Fox26 and KPRC Channel 2.

I have learned that Izzie was staying with Zac at his residence in the Grangerland, Texas area.

The owner of the company is no longer responding to my messages. I have asked for information that I feel may help find Izzie, and it has not been provided. Chris Minnick states that he has sworn statements from people who say they saw Izzie the day of and the day before her disappearance, but I have not seen those statements.

I hope this post encourages someone to reach out to me with more information. Someone knows something. Maybe someone saw Izzie before May 28th. I need answers.

~ This picture was taken from our occasional “boys club day”, as Ej calls it. Mommy goes and does her mommy brunch or pedicure things as us guys watch movies and hang out. Teddy spent a lot of the time staring at the door waiting for mommy to come home but he loved every minute of our play time. We haven’t had a boys club day since you’ve been gone, fat boy! We miss you soooo much but I promise to never give up or stop looking for you. I’ve never made a promise I couldn’t keep; and I promised Ej I’d find you, so I will find you or the truth!! Love you Thaddeus!! 💔

How we got here?

On July 14, 2022, Teddy was picked up by a woman who I was connected via WAG the dog walking app to pet sit Teddy. WAG ensures background checks and monitors the pets whereabouts throughout the service; hence, we were reassured he would be cared for while we were on a family vacation.

The pet sitter sent me two pictures on Thursday walking Teddy. Friday I heard nothing, but given we were on vacation, I didn’t think too much of it.

On July 16, 2022, I was informed via WAG that the pet sitter had “lost” Teddy. The story was that she was walking Teddy with his leash at 2:30 PM and a large off leash dog lunged at Teddy and in her efforts to get the dog off Teddy she let go of his leash and he ran away in fear.

The area were he was lost was in Barton Creek West, Austin, Texas in their community trail where she was not a resident; therefore, should not have been allowed there. This location was 25 miles away from our home and Teddy had no business being there.

We were in Texas, but several hours away and she reassured us that she would find him. Several community members along with some of my family members searched for Teddy that evening to no avail. I posted on all lost dog sites throughout social media, posted in the shelters, posted in nextdoor and Craigslist anything to find Teddy.

My husband and I returned on Monday to search for Teddy. I walked that trail day and night and was joined by my neighbors, family members, and friends. It became very apparent that the pet sitter was not very reliable and it was up to me to find him. We also learned through observation that she was more than likely working for a family while she was supposed to be pet sitting Teddy. Apparently WAG has no guidelines to deter this behavior nor guidance for the safest ways to care for a pet.

Thursday of that week, I was confronted by an upset neighbor accusing me of trespassing and placing a camera in a backyard. I told him that I would never do that, it was the pet sitter who got permission from the neighbor. He basically told me Teddy was dead and I should get over it. I was devastated.

We have had several dog trackers out there and all tracks led to tracking Teddy around the neighborhood with no signs of a predator attack. There was only one sighting given to us on July 18.

Signs have been taken down in the area and with no authority to walk the trail we have focused our efforts via social media. I’ve even created TikToks to focus on the search with the younger population. Anything to find Teddy.

Here is the map of Teddy’s track.

Please share our story. It’s not right or fair. We are responsible pet parents. We thought we were doing what was best for Teddy. I regret everyday letting him go with that woman and I will continue to advocate for Teddy and other lost dogs and their families.

Missing my little office buddy today 😢

Pre-covid Fernando would come home from work and let Teddy out. Teddy loved him and his attention.

Once covid and remote work became a thing he became my shadow. He followed me everywhere. He would even appear on some of my work calls!

If he needed something he would just stare into my soul with his beautiful eyes. Most of the time, it was either he wanted to go outside or wanted a treat. He loved greenies and cookies from Target. He knew if momma went to Target he would get a cookie.

For the most part, he just stared outside or slept on the couch.

Momma misses her baby 🤍🖤

Let me begin with how we chose our sweet boy aka fat boy as my husband affectionately called him.

As a person with anxiety, I discovered that dogs were great for people. He was never meant to be my emotional support dog, but through my self discovery in this process was definitely mine. We found Teddy in the valley where we were from which was identified as the runt of the litter, but also the one that did not follow the rules. In an instant, I knew this was my boy. We drove down and pIcked him up and once he peed on me, I knew he was ours! We present our sweet boy.

Thaddeus James aka Teddy
