From darting into the bunnies room to having great impulse control while the Bunny is out! Benji wouid jump up at the bunny while we walked with him. So to sit down was a huge step!

Caramel wouldn’t let mom out of her sight and was scratching at the floor to get to her, but within minutes she made huge progress.

Found!

LOST DOG!!!! Husky, she’s a rescue and is skittish.
She was with her humans by Canisius stadium on Clinton street, about a mile past Harlem. Please contact 716-346-5673 or Diana Fudoli Finnerty.
She lives on Nash St so may be headingng that way. She’s very friendly but skittish, therefore her name isn’t being given. Do not run towards her, call one of us if seen with location. And see if she’ll approach, she may scare easily.

FOUND HUSKY’!! Clinton and cable.
So after walking down the the direction he came from on cable, and asking a few different people, we made our way to my house. I used my strap from my purse and one of those spiral key chain things for a leash and collar and we made it home! Very sweet dog, has food and water. Male, intact.
I’d say close 1.5 , 2 yrs old.
I did call the Buffalo police and they let the warden know I told them my number and where I was headed and now we wait for his mommy and daddy to find him!
So please spread the word. In the meantime he’s safe!

Knowing your dog means that you empathise with him and try to see the world from his point of view and not your projection of him. Engage in their sniff, put structure to it, and you won’t have to pull them away. They’ll glad end it and begin another, following your lead. Not resisting the pull.

UPDATE! Howie, the emaciated dog we posted about yesterday, is in stable condition. He is being hand-fed every few hours and is currently on medications to help his body heal. Howie was given a medicated bath to help his irritated skin, which he loved! He has a long road ahead of him, but with the support of our donors, he is being given the chance he deserves. Thank you to everyone who has donated towards his lifesaving care.

Stevie says stay is no problem for her! This beautiful gal is almost a teenager, so we are working on boundaries, and impulse control when company comes to the door and outside distractions. This is Stevie’s 3rd lesson in advanced obedience with me. She also did 5 lessons in beginner puppy.
Her stay is developing using little to no verbal communication. Body language, now that’s the key! And I think Stevie agrees!

Caramel-Separation Anxiety

Caramel wouldn’t let mom out of her sight and was scratching at the floor to get to her, but within minutes she made huge progress.

Few minutes later… Anxiety is down, space is given as mom walks towards the door!

Excellent work ladies! *Its important to note that mom is a fearful of shadow. Here you can see them working together, communicating in a way that’s most natural to both, using body language. “To Speak Dog Is To Not Speak At All” Human and Canine minds connect when neither one thinks about it to much. Knox is happy to show how walking nicely into the pet store just might earn him more squeaky toys! Few minutes before this Knox started pulling while approaching the doors. Great job Knox and mom! *3rd lesson, first visit to the store.

A beagle walking by a package of treats on the floor, could it be?? Yes it sure is! This is Beasley the Beagle in our second lesson, simply walking by his favorite treats with just a small sniff and a big wagging tail, no verbal communication while being taught this. Karen Hoak I almost forgot about this one!! Two important things here...Rue is a hound, and.....Rue is a hound😂 This is a great example of the bond and leadership forming, Rue knows great things are going to happen when mom comes back, even with the yummy treats there, and her hand going in the bag. Usually thats a trigger for dogs, sound of that treat bag! Excellent work!

Video 2... look at that distance! ( it doesn't let me post more than 1 video at a time) You can also see the difference in April's confidence compared to the first video. And Lacy felt it to, and together they did awesome!
