Hey, I'm Risa and my son & I are animal lovers, but where we live doesn't allow livestock so we take animal love where we can find it, usually by small farm & pet sitting for friends & family! I have some experience with small & large animals (dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, horses, cows, and goats) & I'm always willing to learn more! So far, I've helped deliver a few critters, feeding/watering, groo
ming, stall cleaning, other farm cleanup, egg collection & coop cleaning, & general cuddling & loving on all the animals! My 15 yr old son comes with me from time to time when we "sit" & helps with chores too. Let me know if you need some help with your critters!

One job featured a 1st for me, a sweet little sheep! She was so cute and followed me everywhere, like a puppy. I might be in love! 😍

I'm Risa Myers, owner of Animal Lovers Pet & Farm Sitting and I just wanted to introduce myself and explain why I decided to do what I do, besides the obvious animal-loving part. 😁
First of all, there is a reason I decided to do in-your-home pet & farm sitting.
I know how hard it can be to board your fur babies, not only because of today's costs, but also because I know that feeling of leaving them in a lonely, cold and usually very loud kennel with total strangers and other strange animals.
I also know how hard it can be to find a friend or neighbor who has the time or even desire to watch your critters when you're gone.
At least with in-home sitting they'll be in the comfort of their own home, even if the person sitting next to them is not their usual cuddle buddy. And I do love to cuddle with your fur babies!
As for pricing, everyone has different animals, different needs for their animals, and different budgets so while I do charge by the day, not everyone pays the same fee.
Distance is also something I have to take into account. Sometimes I travel 5 miles down the road and don't even have to stay the night (although I will if you want me to). Other times I travel 60 miles or more and require a little extra for gas money. And those are definitely times I stay overnight. I don't mind going long distances, but I won't do it two or three times a day if I don't need to. That just seems silly!
Anyway, I hope this helps give some understanding to how I run things and why I chose to offer my services.

It has been a busy couple of months in (and out of) our household so I will be taking the month of April to recharge with my boys and work on getting my goofy dogs trained a little better! Well, hopefully a lot better!

I groomed my lil Poppy the other day. I was finally able to use my new bath hose and the new clippers I got for Christmas!
She tried my patience several times, and her tight little curls really tried my patience...a lot, but we got it done and she looks like a dog again (instead of a giant furball)!

This is Odette. She likes to lick hair and climb all over your head and shoulders. She makes chores a little more difficult, but who cares when you have fun moments like this!

Merry Christmas to me! The hubs bought me a grooming table for my girls a couple of weeks ago.
He was sad that since it came in a big box and not an Amazon box, it wasn't a surprise (it showed what it was on the box lol) so he just let me have it early!
But it was perfect because now they're trimmed up for Thanksgiving!

I had a fun long weekend farm sitting over at Galloping Pines Ranch (without the boy this time)! I snuggled with several kitties, a sweet dog, and some gorgeous big horses! They were all so sweet and very well behaved! I love making new animal friends!

This week has been a busy one between farm sitting at Beaming Hollow Farm and helping when I could with kidding season at Camelot Cattle Company!
I was only able to be goat doula for one birth this year, but I'm glad it was for one of my favorites, sweet Puff! She had a beautiful little doeling! Love being a goat doula!

Just popping in to let you know we're still here, busy with the new puppy of course!
In about a week, we'll be farm sitting at Beaming Hollow Farm again and we're pretty excited to go play with their critters again this year!
If you need us to come pet/farm sit, just let us know! Pricing based on your budget and number of critters. Overnights will be a bit more, but let me know what you need and we'll work with you to fit your schedule and budget!

The boy and I got out in the sunshine earlier this week to see some of the more exotic critters! His favorite animal is the frog so if you ever need a frog sitter, you know who to call!
My favorite is the elephant and I'm definitely down for some up close and personal elephant time if you happen to have one of those in your backyard! 😆
