I grew up surrounded by animals, and dreamed about one day becoming a veterinarian. Fast forward about 30-something years, and things didn’t quite play out as I imagined. I’m not a veterinarian, but an Interior Designer, a wife, a mother of three amazing little girls, and two crazy weimaraners - Roman and Jade. One thing that has remained the same is my extraordinary desire to create “pretty thing
s”. From photography to desserts, and everything between, I always have some type of project going on! I have had pets my entire life, but finally got my very own dog in 2007 when my husband and I brought home a weimaraner puppy named Siena. We were prepared for the puppy phase, and braced for the stereotypical energetic weimaraner, but we never imagined how our lives were about to change. I started taking her to play groups, obedience classes, agility classes, tracking classes, flyball classes, moved on to agility trials and flyball tournaments, we went for walks, we went for car rides, we went hiking, we went camping, we visited anyone and everyone that would have us. Siena quickly became my baby… and my accessory. I found myself on a constant quest for unique collars. I came across a few people who made collars, and thought maybe I should try to make them, too. About halfway through my second pregnancy, I started to feel lazy. I told myself, rather than sit in front of a TV every night, why not sit in front of a sewing machine? So I did…
Crazydog Designs was created in 2012. All of the products advertised on this site are made by hand, with the most unique, fun, and quirky fabrics/ribbons I can find. I was inspired by my first two Crazydogs, Siena and Roman, to start this adventure. Without them, I suppose I would have never felt the need. I am committed to creating durable, one of a kind collars and leashes with plans to add new products to the list in the near future. I’m always willing to accommodate any special size requests, and constantly on the look-out for new materials. So If you have a special request, please don’t hesitate to ask!
