Hi everyone,

Wanted to thank you ALL for making our weekend with the Cowboy County Christmas show at Archer really fun. I was floored by how many friends found us and my Mom's friends too:)! Plus a very important person to us and the alpacas stopped in, our Vet Dr Sam 🐋❤️🌈. So many great vibes. You all made the weekend fabulous 🌻🌻🌻. Thank you 🌸🌼🌺.

So this lovely pot bellied pig showed up here at the ranch a few months ago quite thin and wagging his tail. Homer is still around to add to the festivities this weekend. I had never seen a pot bellied pig. They are pretty neat and no more food waste in the trash, better than a compost bin. Plus as we are preparing for Alpaca Farm Days, our dogs tree'd a poor raccoon up a telephone pole. All in a day. Everyone is safe but this was one for the books.

Alpacas with about 11 months fiber growth and Sophia a little over one year old. For those in the know, she has a greenish hue to her fur and a familiar perfume. Either she rolled in alpaca spittuey or she got spit on by one of her friends. Either way it's proof she thinks of herself as an alpaca now which is the best livestock guardian dog you can ever have ❤️🌹💞.

Prepping for shearing day 🐋. Most important task
completed 🌈, hallelujah. Two hundred bags marked; literally 3 bags for each alpaca; prime blanket, seconds (neck) and thirds (all the rest). Plus a ziplock bag for each fiber sample. With 50 alpacas, that's 200 on the nose. Next, supplies, CDT and time to find all the halters and leads. Praying for the predicted wind to come and GO quickly 😂💨🤣.

CHEYENNE — This weekend, hundreds of alpacas and their humans from across the United States will converge in Cheyenne.

Stalls and arena ready, alpacas vet & color checked, vendors all set, opening ceremonies start at 8am tomorrow morning. Then, the judging begins at the Archer Complex just east of Cheyenne. Show runs Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday, May 3-5th, 2024. Gonna be a lot of fun 🦙🥳🦙:)!

Event: Great Western Alpaca Show GWAS is coming to Cheyenne for the 1st time this Friday through Sunday, May 3-5th, 2024 at the Archer Complex. If you are curious or serious about alpacas this is the event to attend. Host is Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies. Website is alpacabreeders.org where you can find the Event schedule. While we aren't showing alpacas, we are bringing our wares which are produced mostly here with domestically raised alpaca fiber. We will be manning our booth from at least 9am to 5pm Friday and Saturday with Sunday shutting down at 3pm.

This event is still the largest alpaca show in the West. You will see the best alpacas and will be able to meet and chat with their breeders. They come from across the country to compete for Champion titles. There should be a schedule of informative classes as well. This event used to be held at the Denver Stock Show so that is the level of professionalism you'll find.

Hope you come visit us at our Vendor booth and take home something made from alpaca fiber. We are just in time for Mother's Day gifting and we have some luscious scarves, mittens, wrist warmers and hats plus lots of other fun and essential gear to keep you warm and entertained. These girls have been cooped up a couple days during this storm. I can’t believe how filthy the white ones get compared to the bright white snow 😬. Alpacas need their personal space just like us, especially pregnant girls, so you’ll hear some spitting 🤣. They were happy to get out 🌈🦙🐋:)!

Cheyenne got next to nothing, we got about 2 feet. Glad to get the much needed moisture even though it’s going to be rough for a couple of days. Nothing compared to when we loose power though so I’m grateful!!! And the sun just came out. Let the melt begin.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the 2024 Alpaca Extravaganza!!! Cecilia from Alpacaglobo Balloons joined us this year and she had a long line all day. Mark saw an incredible creation of hers of a bow with arrows that worked. You rock Cecilia. We had a wonderful time, thank you all for making this event special:))).
