Got the pretty girl treated for ulcers and she is almost back to her dandy self again! So excited for this little mare’s future, just a year under saddle and we can sidepass, pivot on fore just started working on hind pivots, collect at a stop and backing, and starting to collect at a walk on a bend, she can W/T/L, starting to do lateral walking, and now she’s been introduced to her first snaffle ❤️she is so bombproof I’d put any child or beginner on her! Definitely was blessed with this mare, my Mythril

Welp myth had her vet appt today! Bloodwork thankfully all came back normal, vet does agree it is possible she is having hormonal issues due to just growing up, but she is having me treat her for ulcers because when she went back to her gut she did pin her ears at the tech and the vet. She is not liking her medicine but hopefully this gets her back on track! If it doesn’t they will want to scope her just to ensure she doesn’t have ulcers that aren’t healing and then otherwise possible hormonal control/ training.

Little Mythrils new trick is trotting with me at liberty, but she was so grumpy today but watch how she perks up when I cue her for a hug! She hasn’t been feeling good lately so she is scheduled for the vet to get blood work done and start ruling things out as this isn’t Myth, normally she is so excited to play and work. So please pray that we can get happy Myth back ❤️ she is pulled from doing lessons and work for the last couple weeks to see if she just needed rest but she isn’t getting much better! The vet is thinking she might be showing symptoms of small colic episodes. So we are watching her extremely closely and the vet told us to call them right away if she gets worse before her appt. So yesterday she got pampered and bathed and of course using my Horse n Tale Topical Equine Products she seemed to be feeling a little better today! We used the the new show shine spray to really bring out the dull spots in her coat! I’m in love with these products! If interested in these products message me or the page! They are worth it both for personal use and your pets!

Can’t wait till tomorrow! We did a late bath and didn’t have time for photos before she dried, so tomorrow I will finish grooming her and show you her newest trick that she has learned ❤️ this is her first time with a blanket and sleezy to keep her clean till tomorrow and she didn’t even care! If you can’t tell this is my black mare Mythril under the blankets!

Also side note for all my friends who have visual impairment I will start putting a description in my posts so it will be easier for you all to enjoy them! The picture is my black horse standing in a round pen with a blanket on her back and a sleezy (a stretchy fabric that covers her neck and head with holes for her eyes and ears) if I’m not describing correctly feel free to message me, and I apologize about any posts that weren’t enjoyable due to my lack of description!

Love riding this little mare! Today we accomplished something that she really struggles with-- just sitting until I tell her to move off. She is a hotter horse and loves to keep moving so we practiced our walking with no prancing and just sitting and waiting for the cue to go! Even when other horses left her and her anxiety went up she did so well!

Having fun with the very first horse in my program from when I started almost a year ago! It has been so much fun to take this horse and watch her and her owner transform from being not sure of a partnership to talking about her future in all sorts of areas of life. This horse and I have learned so much from each other in the year ❤️ and we both have come so far. She has helped me learn and find finesse in a lot of areas of my training and riding. I will probably forever come back to this girl even if just to say hi - sorry not sorry to the client 🤣. I’m so grateful for you my client for taking a huge leap of faith in a trainer you didn’t know and letting me learn and grow with your beautiful horse!

She officially loads! This was only her second time being asked to load. So I haven’t been posting much because it’s just been a lot of repetition! A LOT of repetitiveness! Things that we have been working on:
-loading
-trotting in hand
-saddling
-being above
-BACKING (this is huge and lll explain)
-sidepassing both ways
-desensitization of her rear
-driving from the ground
I have been struggling with Утро, she is a more dominant mare, please go watch the first 1-3 days on Sam Vanfleet 2020 Players Choice my mare is a bit more aggressive and cocky than hers from that year but those videos have been my biggest confidence booster and guiding me through this. Thank you Sam Vanfleet's Mustangs for posting real videos! I LOVE these manias for a lot of reasons but the main reason is that I get to practice with so many different horses! I’ve only personally handled about 20 horses in my career so far which really isn’t that many. But I’ve gotten to learn so much from these horses! Утро is smart, beautiful, and athletic and I truly think she will be an amazing horse when the end of this competition rolls around! But right now she is tough for me, aggressive horses don’t scare me but they wear on me mentally as I’m always on the lookout for signs of aggression to quickly shut it down but also keep myself safe! Training a horse takes TRUST, RESPECT, and COMMUNICATION, and right now I don’t trust her and she doesn’t want to give me full respect but thankfully our communication is getting really good 😂

We are getting places with this girl, big thing we need to work on is her trust! She respects me 80% of the time but doesn’t have complete trust yet.

Picture:
Initially looking at this horse a lot of people thought she was just thick. She was not thick, she was fat and considerably fat. This is why she looks so disproportionate in the bottom picture. this is 30 days apart. I can’t wait for another 30! Please stop encouraging fat animals it is not good for their health, she is still a naturally thick girl, we estimate her weight around 1200lbs she is big!

Just like that I have a second mustang mania under my belt this time with ribbons in the end! We got 6th in Handling and Conditioning, 4th in Trail, and not in top 10 for freestyle, and 9th overall! Petals unfortunately got hurt by another horse right before the show and was getting sorer and sorer as the day went on! I had an amazingly understanding judge and host who let me push her to what I thought was safe yet try and show some of her skills as well! They were both surprised with how sore she was with how well she ranked! This horse is a gem! Due to her soreness I’m gonna give her time before doing anything more with her until she heals! She is available for reassignment, 2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ and very willing to travel with gas compensation!

I have the best farrier around! He takes his time, gets to know my horses, and is always making sure their feet are balanced and in the best shape possible! He also educates me on how to better care for their feet and how to “read” their feet. Here are a couple photos of him introducing himself and his tools to Утро and Lilith. When we first met he said he was hesitant to take me on being a mustang trainer /owner, but he loves how they calm down and I’m willing to take his advice. Please remember to treat your farriers with kindness by TRAINING your horse to stand for them, to
not kick, and to keeps their mouths to themselves. It is our job as owners to protect our farrier and vet not theirs. And don’t say it’s in the job description, because no it’s not and you are part of the problem, find help if you are struggling! Treat your farrier with RESPECT! If they aren’t comfortable trimming or shoeing your horse because the horse is skittish or kicking then don’t tell them they are bad farrier, ask them to at least go in and pet and spend time with them to help them trust him or find a different farrier. We are short good farriers so please treat them with kindness and respect and they will come back and stay in the business longer ❤️

Thinking I was motioning for her to come in. This little thing will always be my little sunshine, we have been so blessed with such a good horse for the kids to learn how to ride on, being their age they will learn and grow together ❤️ on a side note- her rabicano is kicking into high gear all the white ticking is so strong this year!

Just as I’ve been really progressing well with all of my clients horses, God sits me down on my butt and reminds me to keep being of student mindset. A horse that I’ve been working with the last couple weeks has history of not tying well. I got him to the point he would stand tied and if he pulled back he would come back gently. I’d bathed him a couple times tied as well. Would I have considered him able to be tied not officially but he was getting there! Today I tied him up as usual and started bathing him nonchalantly, my gut was telling me something isn’t right with tying him up today I shouldn’t push it. Well I washed him down anyways. He reared up and pulled a board off the railing and I looked him over. All seemed fine I contacted the owner let them know what happened and then I saw it- bright red blood just spurting out of his hind! I didn’t check his hind because as far as I saw he didn’t touch it on the board. Immediately put pressure on while my husband raced to grabbed something to make a tourniquet/pressure bandage out of. Came back while he worked on that I called my client and explained what was happening we got him to the vet within 10 minutes and the blood had almost soaked through our second bandage but seemed to have slowed down. The vet was awesome I told her what happened she said even stepping backwards on themselves they can injure themselves like this. I feel absolutely horrible as I don’t want any horse to get injured but especially in my care. With this having been a preventable, I feel even worse. Stay humble always and always listen to that instinct! I’m so thankful it wasn’t any worse and I appreciate the owner for her understanding and I apologize to the arena owners! I’m so sorry to everyone involved and to my clients I had to cancel on today. Thank you for all your guys support, it is truly appreciated! The big boy will be okay!

This is the best first ride I’ve ever had! Thank you Jess and Alex for being there! Cassie wish you could have been here for this ❤️! Petals will be up for reassignment at the end of August! She will have 30 days of rides on her and her price will start at 2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣! More rides I put on her the more her price will go up! I am also willing to continue her training if needed as well! She is approx 14.2 but strings to 15.1. She is fast on her feet and would make an amazing barrel horse or cowhorse. This horse has NEVER bucked on the ground or in the saddle, I will update if she does but I really doubt it! If interested message me and I can help you make this beauty yours!

Ah Petals is next on the list for showing and getting to 100 day mark trained. She has been so much easier to train than Lilith by a 1000 miles! During the last month of Lilith comp I didn’t play much with this one but alex has. I decided to train her to load today to make it so I can start exposing her to numerous more things! Well this little darling girl wouldn’t load for me at all, I’ve never fought a horse this bad to load, EVER! I was extremely frustrated alex said let me take a crack at it, I gave him all the safety points for a safe first loading and look what she did…. Yep I would says she loves him. After he did it a few more times with her, he gave me the rope and she loaded right up. Sometimes it’s not about the training style but about the person. She trusts Alex more than me and that’s okay, I’m gonna use it to my advantage to help build our relationship. Work with what you have and don’t fight it! Good work Alex with her! It has been so much fun to see these two grow as horse and handler.

This boy impresses me every time I get on him! Today we met a new horse, had a snaffle on for the first time, and Ashton begged to ride him so he got a short ride on him. Ashton told me while riding him that he was his favorite horse and he LOVED him. This boy immediately calmed down from the peppy horse he generally is to just a plod along horse when I put Ashton on his back, he is starting to recognize when different people get on him and how to adjust to them ❤️

This horse has been one of the greatest privileges I’ve gotten! This big boy and I have done 5 rides and we are loping! Still just doing cruising around the arena but he is an amazing boy and always striving to please his handler. This boy is going places in life! He belongs to Hiatus Ranch of Idaho, Inc. a veteran serving non profit! Contact the page or Joshuaa Burnsidee for info about the program if you want to volunteer or need the program for yourself or family member ❤️ Thor is a 3 yo mustang! I sure do love my mustangs!

Guys I LOVE this horse!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4th ride first time we have asked her to trot, because she is so skittish I needed her to calm down some with me first doing some walking out and some turns. Notice I’m not holding the reins, this can create too much stimuli for a horse so I was asking her to do one thing: trot. I’m also holding the horn and back of the saddle as a safety just incase she decided to buck im able to stay on better. Alex is in the middle and I was telling him when she was dropping to a walk and he would smack a whip on the ground to encourage her to keep going. But the best part not caught on camera, she did her gait and my goodness I’ve only been on a couple gaited horses, but she is AMAZING to ride at her gait. I think I prefer it over a lope! The goal for tonight was just a trot! Not even sure I will ever want her to lope after feeling her gait ❤️ (I will of course for training reasons) Anyways… even though she didn’t score well I still believe I won the greatest horse of all!
