I will do a few more of these, talking about the different aspects of rex fur. Please keep dropping ideas of topics you would@like to see! #rexrabbit #rexfur #rexfurdensity #rabbit
My posing tutorial requested by another follower. I hope this helps others on their rabbit journey. It is a learning process, I sucked at posing for years. Practice practice practice. Remember that every rabbit has flaws, some of these make it harder to pose and fight you more. Do whatās comfortable for the rabbit, not forcing what you want. Not every breed poses like a Rex. And remember rabbits had bad days too and sometimes just donāt want to pose for you š try again another day! Best of luck! #rexrabbit #rabbitposing #rabbit
This is my how to palpate video, donāt be discouraged if you get it wrong a lot before you get it right. It takes a lot of practice and even then, I can be wrong š¤£ A couple of other key pointers to help you learn(the video cut out so I am writing them) 1.) Palpate a buck to feel what an āopenā doe should feel like. Open does are soft and squishy underneath. 2.) 14 days is the most IDEAL time to palpate. 3.) Later term pregnancies its hit or miss if you can feel babies, generally I find around 3 weeks their stomach will feel very hard, you wonāt be able to even feel intestines. Good luck on your palpating!! #rexrabbit #rabbitpalpation #palpate #rabbitpregnancy
š Happy New Year!! š
This has been a discussion as of late so deciding to share current learning curve about the wideband gene which is most known for being important in the Red variety. But it does show it face elsewhere! Its actually preferred in the show world for Otters to be wideband but not a fault for being non wideband. Showing the Lynx variety also, phenotypically are preferred to be wideband over non-wideband. #rexrabbits
Promising young prospect doe. I decided to start sharing some posing videos because it can be such a hard concept to grasp. It is still for myself, but I have found watching videos of others helps me most. Some tips for jrs: 1. They are not all alike, have patience, some will feel better in your hand and pose better than others. 2. Cradle the front legs and head together, stretch away from the body and down to the table slowly. If they arenāt relaxed when you start they wonāt be in your hand. 3. Hold the head away from the table if theyāre fighting you, this can relieve pressure points they may have from conformation flaws. 4. Some days, bunnies just donāt want to pose š¤£
