I will try and make sense of this bear with me.

Replacement chicks $1871

Total 🟰 $14531.
Figuring the egg was harder as I do not really keep track of those as well as I should.
I had 200 leghorns and 150 RIR that were laying in January. Got baby’s in April they didn’t start laying till sept and there was a few month I didn’t have much for eggs. So we figured 13 dozen a day was a good guess.
Eggs 4745 dozen at $4 a dozen is $18, 980
18,980 -14,531=4,449 for the year I got paid 12.18 a day.
And tbh I didn’t include everything. I have labor I pay for. I have equipment I got also. 2 fans I got were $600.
These are some crazy numbers !!🤯🤯
Also please do not come after me if my numbers are exact.
Food is not cheap to produce.

Friends, as we head into the frigid winter our shelves are looking rather empty and we need your help.

The whipping winter wind is painful these days, we’ve all felt it.

I dread the walk from my car to the building and have traded daily outdoor treks for the gym, but those that struggle to find adequate housing rely on the library for a safe place to spend their days, or they spend them outside.

We have more than a handful of people who look to the library as their sanctuary. It’s not at all uncommon to find one or two people waiting on us to open in the morning who then only leave when we’re closing.

For these people the little free pantry that you’ve helped begin has been life changing. They know that they can stop by and find something for breakfast, that they won’t be hungry at lunchtime or at dinner.

While every donation is appreciated what they need most is food that’s ready to eat when they open the package because they don’t have access to pots and pans and microwaves.

Things like rice and canned veggies and Easy Mac are so appreciated and we have patrons that struggle with food insecurity who are so thankful for that, but anything in a package that can be eaten right away would be saving people we see every day from having to open a can of peanut butter and savor it throughout the day.

Why do we wait till Thanksgiving to have that beautiful meal of turkey? I ask myself this question every year around this time. Turkey is delicious!
