Dear Vee, Jeanine, and David,

I am incredibly grateful for your generosity, great service, and fantastic product. I have attached a video of KT celebrating! She loves her new mask.
This mask is a lifesaver for her...quite literally. With it, she remains comfortable even with the REU (recurrent equine uveitis) and so can be a great partner, happy horse, and continue her work as a therapy horse helping others with special challenges. And, I love explaining it to our clients, especially those with disabilities who also may need adaptive equipment to make their lives easier. It helps them to know that even animals sometimes need special equipment and have conditions that cause them pain, discomfort, and/or difficulty behaving as their best selves. And that, with the right support - in this case, the Guardian mask - they feel better and their quality of life is much improved.

We haven't posted in a while, we've been working hard at making masks! We do want to take this opportunity to send everyone well wishes as we look forward to Summer!

During overcast weather, and or days that are hazy, masks are still recommended, as this is the time of year when we tend to see most flare ups of uveitis.

The sun is still out even during overcast days. We want to make sure your horses stay healthy and comfortable during Winter months as well.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)

Hi everyone! First we want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and thank you all for the ongoing support, we truly appreciate you and your horses!

We would also like to share information about a new test for Equines to see if particular factors are in your horses genetics that could put your horse at risk for Squamous Cell Carcinoma as there are particular breeds that can be affected more than others.

I have personally used this company for several tests for my animals and they have been reliable and very much worth the effort.

I had to share this, I found it on a rather graphic post about a horse with ulcerations in the stomach, but what was said in the end was very true, and it also applies to horses with eye conditions and or problems. So maybe we need to pay close attention to those signs, signals and subtle hints, especially when it comes to "headshaking" or "Photo Sensitivity" Because most of the time, horses only show visible signs or uncomfortable behavior when your tack or gear is on and the horse is being commanded to perform. When the horse is in a stall or pasture, those signs are not as visible because the horse is in charge, handling the problem the only way he or she can. So as a reminder this is what was shared that resonated strongly with the headshaking scenario: "Please remember: "Horses suffer silently, they can only do two things, when they try to communicate their discomfort with us: they can change their behavior or their performance. And they do try to whisper at first, but when we don't hear them they have to shout .....but even that is, many times, misunderstood ...."
