While our beautiful bengals reside in our enriching and carefully designed cattery, our kittens and mothers are raised in our home underfoot. I want to thank Lori Denley for getting CH Elysian Warped Kraken aka Roka HCM screened today.

Dr. Sayer at CARE in Charlotte performed the screen and Roka is HCM clear.

While we retired from breeding we will continue to screen our cats and share the information with researchers doing studies on HCM

Some of these higher numbers may not impress everyone but they sure impress me. This season Inlahi started showing as a kitten and just was getting final after final unlike any of my cats or kittens before. As an adult she achieved QGC in less then a month including two best cats!

Thank you Philadelphia Tea Party for a wonderful show this weekend in Lebanon PA. I’m glad I decided to come last minute! To say I’m pleasantly shocked is an understatement. The competition was wonderfully stiff. QGCA Elysian Dark Genesis aka Genesis got points towards his Supreme and only needs 220 and a best cat to get it. Elysian NR Dark Matter on the other hand got two finals and not just any finals she got two best cat finals! Pending TICA she is now a Quadruple Grand Champion at only 9 months old (cats are considered adults at 8 months so she has only been in the adult class for less then a month). If I had not decided to retire I would not have kept her, I’m so glad I went with my gut!

Had a fantastic weekend in VA with very good old and new show friends. We brought Siri who most likely achieved her triple grand champion title, Genesis who is now only 920 pts and a best cat from his Supreme and Inalhi who not only got her double but her triple grand champion title! The cats had a blast and the club did a phenomenal job putting the show together!

We had a wonderful show this week in Jekyll Island, GA for the Southern SophisTICAcats show. What a beautiful location and venue, great friends (old and new), awesome food and wonderful weather. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing weekend! This was Elysian NR Dark Matter aka Inalhi's second show and BengalLily x Elysian MazofWhispers aka Naizey's first show Inalhi absolutely blew us away! She took 8/12 finals. She had so much fun, was a total goofballs and the judges loved her! Naizey took 2/12 finals and seemed to really love the pole especially the second day! Our handsome stud muffin QGC, 2x Best Seal Silver Spotted Lynx Point in the region and the first stud we ever kept from a first time breeding Elysian Valhallan Ice Warrior aka Ragnarok lovingly called Nar has officially joined the retirement club! Nar is son of Fractal Starkiller Echo of Elysian aka Echo and CH Leopardspride Sessrumnir of Rowan aka Rummi and is from their first litter … the Star Wars Litter. His litter was bred specifically for type and to produce a boy that would be perfect for CH Silverstorm Crown Jewels aka Cortana. Together they produced two beautiful litters resulting in our goofy girl Roka. He attracted my attention from day one and despite my mentor thinking I should keep his brother I went with my gut. Needless to say I never regretted my choice to keep him. Nar was my travel buddy for a long time and really enjoyed going to shows and visiting my parents. He was the first titled cat I produced and is still currently my highest titled cat. Nar represents some great structure. His mom comes from Fractal Felines who was one of the first breeders I learned about line consistency. He has generously passed on his beautiful personality, straight profile, super wide nose, puffy nose leather and big round nocturnal eyes. When we unexpectedly had to retire Cortana, he wasn’t bred for two years, yet despite this he remained as sweet as pie and was respectful to the girls he bred with once we had girls for him again. And despite not showing since COVID, this last weekend he showed for the first time like he never skipped a beat! In his show career he had been awarded not only his Quadruple Grand Champion Title, we was also 2020 SouthEast Region Best Seal Silver Spotted Lynx (Tabby) Point Bengal of the Year, 2019 SouthEast Region Best Seal Silver Spotted Lynx (Tabby) Point Bengal of the Year and 2019 Third Best Seal Silver Spotted Lynx (Tabby) Point Bengal of the Year. It has come time for Elysian AngelofEcstasy aka Ecstasy to retire. We had waited FOUR years for a beautiful daughter (after passing up on one in her first litter ONLY because she was a silver seal lynx…probably the one cat I regret not keeping in my career) not only did we get one we got two from some co breedings with Lori Denley and Alexa Rodriguez. Lori’s boy Sakura Twisted Fate aka Onyx helped produced our Elysian NR Angel Apocrypha aka Crya and Alexa’s boy from Lunakatz, LunaKatz Diesel aka Diesel helped produce Elysian NR Dark Matter aka Inalhi. Ecstasy comes from our very first breeding female Fractal Starkiller Echo of Elysian aka Echo and Naples All Father of Elysian aka Vaaldir in a large litter of 7. It was an easy pick between her and her sister to ingrate Echo’s structure and Vaaldir’s wild traits like broken tabby M, medium thick and blunt tail and spotted paws as well as charcoal and silver into our program. Despite what everyone thinks she is named as such because Echo LOVES to have babies and just seemed to be in heaven raising them so we thought the name was fitting. She plays a huge part in my Bengal history but being one of the faces of my charcoal campaign where she flew all the way to Las Vegas as part of the campaign. While showing isn’t for her, out of about 35 kittens, she got 6th Best Bengal Kitten from Fate Mayes and voted 9th Best Kitten of the Congress by our fellow breeders. November of that same year, she participated in her last show in Simpsonville, SC to compete in new traits for the charcoal proposal where she receive one best cat in new traits placement against her brother, brother and 6 other charcoals. She has produced several beautiful litters while in our program including her 7th Tower, Celtic and Dragons Litters with Cayde, Deer Litter with Onyx and Astronomy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Litters with Diesel. Had a wonderful weekend in Simpsonville SC for the ItsTICATime cat show! Crya (Elysian Angel Apocrypha) earned her champion title in her first adult show! Some of our grand and great grand babies produced with other breeders also got finals and favorable placements!!

Today was a bittersweet day at Elysian Bengal. Sakura GiftofChaos of Elysian aka Soahc (chaos backwards) is officially on the road to her new forever home with one of our previous kitten owners. While, we know she will be endlessly spoiled and able to jump on as many shoulders as she wants, we will miss her dearly. Soahc has been with us for almost 5 years after she arrived from our good friend Lori at Sakura Bengals. We paired her with several boys before finding her purrfect match, our beautiful silver charcoal Elysian Dark Genesis aka Genesis. Soahc and Genesis have produced some of our best darkly pigmented silvers. She truly is the epitome of not judging a book by its cover and producing kittens that far surpass her. She was one of the few pure for spotting cats we had and sported a of COI: 18.84% and Genetic Diversity: 38.5%. So-So was my squishy. She was affectionate, snuggly and chatty. She had a habit of hanging on the storm doors to the nursing suites to get my attention. She loved jumping on shoulders and laying like a scarf around your neck, while one of the more dominant girls she got along with others really well and co parented a litter with Obsidia. She adopted a lot of kittens from other mom’s and was a fantastic mother to many babies. Soahc’s Legacy carries on with her daughter GRC Elysian Primal Vision aka Siri our first 100% bengal from our outcross lines that also combines our best silver and charcoal lines. She is the mother to the Trees, COVID-19, Witchy, Lucifer, Psychedelics, Neopets and Tea litter. So-So, Soahc, our little gift of chaos we love you SOOOOO much.
