Ripple with Dr. Firestine.
Ripple came into see Dr Firestine a few months ago when she wasn’t feeling well. She was found to be anemic and have two tick borne diseases. A few weeks after treatment, she still wasn’t right. Dr. Firestine ran additional diagnostics and Ripple was ultimately diagnosed with Lymphoma. Her loving owners pursued chemotherapy with her and as of this week, her scans and lab work were NORMAL!!! Please help us to congratulate Ripple and her family on absolutely wonderful news. We love you Ripple 🩵

Stay safe and be seen this fall!

Just a quick reminder for anyone planning to visit state game lands between November 15 and December 15: you must wear at least 250 square inches of fluorescent orange on your head, chest, and back combined unless engaged in lawful hunting or trapping that doesn’t require the use of orange. This includes Sundays.

“Hats and vests are best!” An orange hat and vest satisfy this requirement.

And don’t forget about your furry friends — it’s a good idea to make sure your pets are sporting fluorescent orange, too!

🔬𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝. Have you seen a tick that looks like a grape or raisin? You may have even found them on your living room floor. When ticks fully engorge with blood, they increase 10x their original size making it challenging to identify them. Once ticks reach this engorgement, they will detach from the host on fall to the ground. Here is a guide comparing unengorged to engorged for the three common adult ticks in the northeast USA.
