Diesel continues to grind at 3 1/2 years old he got a later start than most but hasn’t had any problem figuring out this game! Looking forward to see what this guy does at hunt test and wild shed hunting. 2024 training spots open message me for details!

Unfortunately some of the best tracking doesn’t always end in a recovery! Reign put on a absolute impressive show today putting a shoulder shot buck on his feet twice as we were trying to get the hunter a follow up shot but unfortunately everything was just to thick and no shot was able to be made! 2.75 miles total before we decided the deer was to much alive to get close enough for a clear follow up. Can’t win them all.

Thanksgiving recovery! This deer was jumped from his bed early this morning and took a trip around the neighbors farm, bedded a second time along the back property line fence and we believe getting up after the property owner had walked and rode his four wheeler around the property several times looking for the deer, and eventually ending up in his pond, which the property owner had also checked 3 times today. Luckily close enough to the edge I was able to rope his antlers with Reigns check cord and drag him to shore!

Our boy Rip is relocating to a life of luxury, he has been sold to the owner of a 1000 acre whitetail ranch in Florida and will be living the high life basically at Disney land for shed dogs! I can’t wait to see all the antlers he will pick up for them! It’s been a ride kid the adventures we have been on and the places we have gone will not be forgotten! Live in paradise, Love your new family and find those bones buddy!

We tracked this deer a few weeks ago for 13 year old Jerry when he hit him right behind the shoulder with his crossbow but a touch low, we jumped the deer 3 times and took him over a mile before calling the track. They have seen the deer several times since and yesterday while sitting by him self Jerry finished the job and got his redemption! Congratulations little buddy, heck of a deer and I’m glad you finally got to lay your hands on him!

I’d like to take a second and wish everyone luck with this weekends fire arm opener in Indiana! Remember we are here if you need help tracking or just need advice on your situation. Give your deer plenty of time before tracking, with every woods packed full of hunters the last thing you want to do is jump your deer and run him to the next guy and don’t forget when in doubt back out!

It’s not always picture perfect and some times luck comes into play! Scent conditions were not great at all today windy and dry when this deer crossed a open wheat stubble field. Back of one lung and liver.

We are on a long run of living deer, deer that are mainly high or shoulder shot deer just a reminder to stay back off of that shoulder and on quartering way shots think about how the arrow will exit. Aim far enough back that the arrow will come out behind the far side shoulder!

Jumped 2 of the 4 deer we tracked yesterday with rut in full swing we are gonna have to start letting these deer have more time than normal to lay down and die! With any luck both of those deer have potential to be recovered today!

We received proof of life on the buck from the track from yesterday that Reign found the shed on! Neighbor runs a drone deer recovery service and found him alive!

Joys of having a tracking dog that’s also a shed dog while tracking through a thicket yesterday Reign blew up crazy hot and made a hard turn diving into the thicket I really thought she had caught wind of the deer instead this is what we found at the end of the scent cone! Old white chalky one!

Nick was up from Kentucky on his first Indiana public land hunt and on his first sit he took a hard quartering too shot on this nice buck and when the blood trail ended he called for a dog Reign marched right through the thicket across a crp field into the next thicket/ fence row showing us some blood and back into crp and .2 miles later Reign was chewing on her reward. Zero chance this deer was found without a good tracking dog!

Have I mentioned Reign is on fire! 3 for 4 today! This Buck took us on a .4 mile adventure through one of the thickest thickets I’ve ever tracked through 90% of the time I couldn’t see Reign in front of me as I was crawling and being pulled by this deer finding machine! The shot was much farther back than the hunter thought, was liver/gut shot! Reigns performance today was absolutely top notch!

Reign is on them today! Shoe string track absolute perfection we decided to connect the blood trail midway as to what the hunter tracked and in under 2 minutes Reign went through a few beds and 200 plus yards of tall grass and was chewing on her reward! Semi frontal shot as the deer stepped towards the hunter on the shot almost identical to what happened with my daughters deer!

Low gut shot with a long bow …..edit ….zero blood, 250-300 yards, 20 hours after the shot, jumped him then caught him and finished him off!

Chloe was pretty happy she’s got the number 1 tracking dog in Indiana tonight! She was holding perfect behind the shoulder when she touched off the center point and he made a nasty turn apparently entered in front of right shoulder and exited behind left leg decent blood trail for the most part but reign worked us through some crp that was definitely a struggle to see blood in! .3 miles later and reigns got us on him. 3inch gash in the heart!

Lainey 2 hours and 28 minutes old 105 yards with 2 90’ turns day 4 of her training, she is absolutely exceeding all of our expectations! lots of repetitions will clean up her skill, looking forward to seeing what she looks like in another 116 days!

They called him Big Nasty but we will remember him as Reigns heart deer! A fire was lit in her heart last night, a determination we have been waiting for! For the first time I seen legacy coming out in her maybe she’s her mothers daughter after all! LET’S GO! #GameOn #OnTheTailgate #Reign

Gunner getting in a couple short tracks with 90 degree turns in them tonight! This is marathon not a sprint, this stuff doesn’t happen over night and doesn’t happen with out patience and hours and hours of tracks! I’d normally let gunner follow his nose and miss the line but I didn’t feel like crawling in and out of that fence several times so I brought him back in and he hit the track again nicely! Believe it or not it’s important to let your dog miss the line and work it out on their own perhaps he would have done just that with more time however I wanted to avoid a tangled mess around the fence this time! Help us out with gunners training this season and allow him to track your known deer trails or trails you haven’t tracked but watched or heard your deer crash as he progresses and proves him self we hope to get him on a few harder tracks before handing back over to his owner!

Buck has mastered force fetch and his hold is 95% we’re moving on and will continue to hold condition with every retrieve!

Love how much ground this dog is covering and his nose is something special!
