I'm seeing more and more people recognize that herpes virus in litters have been causing puppies 1+ weeks old to start dying. Keeping the temperature higher over 100'f degrees is one way to help save them because the virus doesn't live in higher temperatures. Here's a problem. Bully breeds do not survive well in temperatures over 90'f degrees because of the shorten Airway that is blocked by an enlarge or elongated soft palate.
Puppies can be rotated out from the mother and placed in a warm climate. But make sure your checking each puppy rectally with a thermometer to make sure that their tempos stay under 102'f degrees. It's really a thin line between living and dying.
