Happy Thanksgiving from our BVS family to yours! So thankful to our employees and their families for working so hard to keep your pets in good health. We are also so thankful to families who entrusts us with their pets care❤️

As we enter the week of thanksgiving BVS wants to provide all pet owners with some helpful tips to keep your pets safe this holiday.
🥧 do not feed your pets holiday food, or bones!
If you want to make them feel included in the festivities give them pet friendly treats such as carrots, apples. If you are feeling festive you can even make them their own pup friendly treat such a pumpkin pie. 🥧 take out the trash as soon as possible to keep pets from breaking in
🥧 keep holiday decorations out of pets reach
🥧 make sure your pets have an area they can go to take break from guests
🥧 make sure pets have up to date IDs in the form of collars and or microchips

Happy Howl a ween!

As Halloween approaches make sure to keep you pets safe with these tips!

🍁Keep all candy out of reach from pets. If your pet does ingest candy contact your veterinarian.

👻 Make sure your pets are wearing their collars with up to date ID information.

🍁 Keep pets inside or leashed during trick or treating.

👻 If you pet has a costume make sure it fits well, and do not leave them dressed up unattended.

🍁 Make sure to send us photos of you pets in their Halloween costume to be featured on the BVS page.

It’s Tech week! 🥳 We are very grateful for our Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs), Jackie and Calla.

Jackie has been taking care of our BVS pet family since 2009. Jackie epitomizes our mission statement to “Strive daily to provide quality veterinary medical care to the patients and clients we serve”. Pet health can be overwhelming at times, but Jackie has become a pro at handling each situation with care and integrity. She has a “pet-first” attitude, which in turn, eases the angst of our pet owners when it comes to the health, care, and well-being of their furry “kids”. There’s not an animal, large or small, horse to hummingbird, (yep, hummingbird) that Jackie won’t give her best care and attention to.
Thank you, Jackie, for all you do for our clients and patients. We truly appreciate you.

Calla is new to BVS, but we are certainly fortunate to have her in our employ. Calla is an amazing forward-thinker and continuously has our patients’ best health in mind. She tirelessly offers to help anywhere needed, and in veterinary medicine, that can be anywhere at any time. Soon after Calla started, a 0.56 # tiny orange-striped kitten made its way to us with a very protruding eye caused by a botfly living right behind its eye socket. Calla instantly came to the rescue of this baby and saw to it that the kitten received nutrition as it fought off infection. The kitten, now named “Goose”, may have one less eye, but is loved more than imaginable at Calla’s home.
Thank you, Calla, for all you do for our clients of patients. We truly appreciate you.

For this week's highlight we have Sophie, affectionately nicknamed Skunk because of her black & white coloration. She is 6 year old Pomeranian Chihuahua mix. She was adopted in 2018 and has been living the dream ever since. Her favorite things to do are take naps and go for walks.
