Congratulations to our February SAE Spotlight, Elizabeth Hiter!
Elizabeth’s SAE is Equine Entrepreneurship. Her family owns Fairview Acres Riding where she gives horseback riding lessons as well as showing and training her own horses. She placed in the top ten in Arena Flags at the Tennessee Saddle Club Association State Show; and won Youth Speed Champion at Clarksville 79 Riding Club this summer. She has also qualified for National Barrel Horse Association Worlds competition and won other titles during her high school career.
Her extracurriculars in addition to FFA, include BETA Club, National Honors Society, Blackhole, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is an officer in the Trigg County Interact Club. She is also a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church Youth Group and Clarksville 79 Riding Club.
Her FFA accomplishments include placing 5th in the State Horsemanship competition her freshman year. She placed top ten with her team in Animal Science at MSU Field Day, receiving a superior ranking on her Floral Impromptu speech her sophomore year. She also placed 6th with her team and 23rd individually in the Veterinary Science competition this year.
Her personal goals in FFA this year are to represent Trigg County FFA Chapter, at the Purchase Region, in the Equine Impromptu Public Speaking. She also plans to compete at MSU Field Day and run for a Chapter Office in the spring.
Her plans after graduation are to attend Murray State University and double major in Veterinary Technology and Equine Science, where she plans to become a veterinarian.
