Yes, I know this Giving Tuesday post is a little late… but that’s because, along with running the largest hamster-specific rescue in North America, I also work full-time as a children’s therapist. 😅 That’s to fulfill my need to be needed, in addition to helping support the rescue! So here I am, squeezing in a little time tonight to ask for your help.

This year alone, we’ve:
✨ Taken in 210 hamsters in need of safe, loving homes
✨ Helped 297 hamsters stay in their homes through our pet retention program

Our pet retention program is a cornerstone of what we do. By providing supplies and support to struggling families, we’re not just helping the hamsters—they get more time and care to thrive—but we’re also positively impacting the humans involved. This program saves hundreds of lives each year and allows us to help far more hamsters than we can physically house in our rescue. Funding these efforts is vital to keeping this life-saving work going.

As the largest hamster-specific rescue in North America, we house up to 200 hamsters at any given time—and we need your help to keep going. 🐹 I’m raising funds to purchase a professional caging system, the ARS 5032 rack, that will completely transform how I care for these little ones. It’s secure, long-lasting, and will boost our capacity—all while making things a bit easier on me as a solo rescuer managing everything with chronic pain. 🥲

🐹 Meet Stuart! Looking for a Home ASAP! 🐹

This senior gentleman is Stuart, a two-year-old Syrian cream hamster with a heart of gold. 💛 He’s the sweetest little guy you’ll ever meet and is ready to be spoiled in a loving home for his golden years!

Stuart has been with his family since he was a baby, but they didn’t know that Syrian hamsters need to live alone. 🐾 He shared a small cage with his brother for most of his life, and after his brother passed away last week, Stuart is now on his own. With his family preparing for a move, they reached out to us—and we’re so glad they did!

Now Stuart needs YOU. He’s been through so much and deserves a calm, cozy space where he can feel safe, spoiled, and loved. Don’t wait—let’s get this sweet senior out of rescue and into a quiet home ASAP!

Remember, we don’t judge families who are learning about hamster care—it’s about helping hamsters live better lives! But now, Stuart needs that special someone to give him the TLC he truly deserves. Could it be you?

✨ Brie Update! ✨

Our sweet girl Brie had her vet visit yesterday at , and here’s where we stand:

💊 We’re continuing with antibiotics, pain meds, and adding eye ointment to her treatment plan.
🩺 The vet confirmed that her eye is, sadly, gone, but the good news is we’re watching closely as the interior resorbs and the scab falls off.
🩹 If there’s any sign of further damage or infection risk, we’ll be back to discuss surgery—but for now, fingers crossed! 🤞

Brie is extremely tiny—so we think she’s just a baby—but with some TLC, she has already gained 9g! 🥹 She’s showing us what a little fighter she is, and we couldn’t be prouder of her progress so far.

Thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown Brie. 💕 Keep cheering her on as she heals and grows stronger every day!

✨ Update on Brie, our sweet little rescue girl! ✨

A huge thank you to for saving this little one and to my mom, Gramma Hamma (in the picture!) for showering her with love and care overnight! 💕 We’ve decided to name her Brie, as an homage to Maggie’s late hamster, Cheddar. 🧀

Brie is already starting antibiotics, and she’ll be heading to veterinary urgent care to address her damaged eye. Now that we’ve had a closer look, it’s clear we may be facing surgery to give her the best chance at a healthy and comfortable life.

🐹 Welcome, little fighter! 🐹

Today’s rescue story is about a tiny baby Syrian hamster with a BIG will to survive. This sweet boy was found wandering alone in the dirt in Santa Clarita, with some serious scabbing and damage to his eyes. 💔

Thanks to our amazing friend and member of the rescue community, , this little guy is safe and sound now. Tonight, he’ll be spoiled by Gramma Hamma (aka my mom 🥰), and I’ll pick him up tomorrow to get him the care he needs—including a vet appointment already booked for the earliest possible time.
