Own & Clarise
Happy 2 week birthday to the youngest in our Rescue currently! Owen and Clarise 🥰
Poopin Poppy update 12/2/24
Poppy is growing like a little weed! She is just over 2# and full of life. Her and Jedi are still buddies and spend a lot of time snuggling and wrestling.
They were wrestling and flipping around being super cute and the second I turned the camera on, they both stopped to watch me. 😞 One of these days I will get a cute video of them!!
Poppy is still doing great on her FIP medication. I may be wishful thinking but I think she can see! I don’t know how well, but she follows the other kittens with her eyes and knows when another kitten is on her playpen. She can’t always pinpoint exactly where they are at but she will spend quite a while “watching” for them to see what they are doing. She knows where her toys are and has no issues holding her own with her big brother Jedi. If it isn’t her eyesight, this is one very smart and intuitive girl. She doesn’t miss much!
Poppy will need to go in for some more bloodwork either this week or next. We are hopeful her numbers are improving as all of the other signs are moving in the right direction.
Please keep sending Poppy love! She still has another 2 months of FIP treatment and then an observation period of 3 months before she is considered cured. For now, she’s doing great and loving life!!

Poppy update 11/18/24
Poppy is doing really well on her FIP treatment. She just hit 2#! She prefers her rotisserie chicken over any other food so we go through a lot of chicken in this house! I swear Cub must think we are feeding a family of 12 with how much chicken we buy. 🤣
Poppy plays with her balls and wrestles with her buddy Jedi. Unfortunatley, Jedi is a bit under the weather….again so he hasn’t been too playful. Poppy snuggles with him and tries to comfort him. These darn viruses!! We are hoping by the weekend, they will both be back to playing and wrestling.
Poppy now uses her litter box all the time. No diarrhea for weeks now so we are definitely on the right path.
Poppy has a recheck with her primary doctor next week and we should be running more blood work to see how things are going on the inside.
She hasn’t been a good sport about wearing the splints for her front legs and we haven’t been able to get her back to the vet so she’s been enjoying freedom from them for the past week. Enjoy the freedom Poppy cuz next week, the clubs go back on your feet girl friend!!
Thank you to all of Poppy’s friends who send her love and check in to see how she’s doing. Poppy-saurus is doing great!!!

This adorable, biscuit making Diva is ready to find her forever family and home. Miss Turtle Toot Toots has overcome so many obstacles to be here today and her bigger than life personality is sure to melt anyone’s heart. Diva is not an exaggeration! She demands attention and is quite persistent and vocal about it. She loves people food and begs like a dog. She is learning proper food etiquette and still has a ways to go. She is as sweet as pie and loves affection and snuggles.
*There is an adoption contract and fee for Turtle and personal and veterinary references are required. Serious inquiries only please. *
If you have been following Turtle’s journey and would like an opportunity to possibly adopt her, please send us a DM or email. We hope to have her in her new home early December.

Poppy update
Poppy-saurus update: 11/6/24
Poppy is doing great on the FIP medication!! She goes in for some bloodwork on Friday to see where her red cells and white cell counts are at. Poppy’s appetite is great and she loves her rotisserie chicken!!! We buy a chicken a day and it’s mostly for Poppy. Poppy may be a little spoiled! 🍗
Poppy’s diarrhea is finally gone! She plays and grooms herself like the other kittens now. ❤️
Poppy also had her surgical consultation this afternoon with Dr Meyers at Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Oakdale. After some discussion about what “could” be causing her deformity, we opted to start with some X-rays of her front legs to see what was going on with her bones and joints. To our surprise, an answer was discovered right away. Poppy has a congenital condition called hemimelia. This very rare condition occurs when an animal or person is born missing bones in their forelimbs. Poppy is missing her radius in both of her front legs and this is causing her legs to twist and bend. She does have her ulnas but she needs both bones for her limbs to function and grow properly.
This is a very rare condition and Poppy’s unique case was quite the talk at AERC today.
What does this mean for Poppy long term? We aren’t completely sure. She cannot “grow” a radius and there isn’t any surgical intervention recommended for this condition. If we do nothing, her condition may worsen and her joints will fuse as she grows and her legs will remain permanently deformed. The only possibility to help Poppy is to splint her front legs for the next 6 months in hopes this helps straighten her wrist joints so that her front legs can function more normally. She will need to have her splint changed weekly with our primary vet and she will need follow up visits with her surgeon every 2 months to continue to evaluate her condition.
Poppy got her first splints put on at AERC and before we got home, she had one off already! 😂 The second one c
Jedi is such a great big brother to Poppy. He is becoming her buddy and cleans and plays with her. He will also sleep with her and quite often they eat together from the same dish. He is becoming her seeing eye kitty. ❤️
I just love how animals communicate and help one another. Every single rescue kitten teaches us something. Whether it’s about a medical condition or treatment options or just how unique each one is in their personalities. I love watching them interact with one another and how the adult cats in the house help teach the orphaned kittens how to be cats. It is truly amazing and a privilege! I cherish every moment that we have to watch and learn from them.
***Poppy update***
Poppy had a recheck with one of our primary vets yesterday and she is doing great! Her diarrhea has stopped, her appetite is great, her blood work is improving, she is grooming herself again, she is playing a little, and she likes to just be awake more listening to the chaos of the house. She does still sleep a lot but this is good as her body is working hard to overcome such a brutal virus and attack on her system from the FIP. We recalculated her dose as she has gained 1/4# this past week!!
Way to go Poppy-saurus!! 🦖
Keep eating your chicken! 🐓
We are very grateful for the huge progress the past few days!
Poppy has her surgical consultation at AERC next week. Please keep sending Poppy all the healing love you can spare. ❤️ 🙏

Urgent!! Poppy
Urgent! We need your help! Poppy has taken a turn for the worse and despite all the supportive care she is receiving, she is declining quickly.
Poppy came down with bad diarrhea earlier this week. Fecal test showed coccidia and we started medications to help with inflammation and the coccidia. She has been receiving subq fluids also for the dehydration that occurs with severe diarrhea. Poppy has had a good appetite until today but her little body stopped digesting food a couple of days ago and it runs out of her as fast as she eats. She has been losing significant weight daily due to her intestines not digesting food and this afternoon, she quit eating. She is very sick and desperately needs your healing prayers and vibes. We were at our primary vet this afternoon and started another antibiotic and she got an anti vomit injection. She has continued to decline tonight and we are now at AERC emergency vet to see if there is anything more we can do to save her. Please, Please send her your prayers!! 🙏 🙏 🙏
Turtle
Team Turtle Update! Turtle had her last appointment at AERC to check her wound and got the medical all clear!! She was off all meds and then spiked a 103 fever so back on antibiotics for a week. She is now fever free and spunky! Here’s a sweet video of her and another kitten rescue (Alesha). Aren’t they adorable!? 😻 #rainbowwhiskerskittenrescuemn #teamturtle
