Roxxi has overcome many health challenges in recent years but she started having seizures - infrequent at first. But she's been having them frequently this past week - requiring 2 visits to the ER and neuro consult. HOP was able to help with the financial stress of these bills. Our first vaccine clinic of 2024 is just around the corner!!
Last year, SJRAS saw an increase in the number of puppies arriving to the shelter already suffering from Parvo. Parvo is a highly contagious canine disease that is often fatal. Help keep your pets healthy by keeping them up to date on vaccinations!! 🐶

The economy isnt getting any better. We've heard of two large layoffs in the area in the last week. And as always, our goal is to keep pets with their families with zero judgement. One of the many pets we helped last month is below.

And that's a wrap!! Our 1st Holiday Supply Run is finished. 132 familes. 415 pets with full bellies. What started as a small project blew up. The need is so great right now. And it couldn't have been accomplished without our supporters. Whether you donated, bought from the Amazon registry or shared our posts, THANK YOU!! Special shout outs to Crossroad Powersports for the loan of the van. Concord Pet Foods & Supplies and Thorin's Promise for their donations and constant support. We couldnt have gone from 150 to 415 without YOU!! An extra special shout out to today's muscle. Our volunteer drivers, loaders and runners were AMAZING!! Here's a few pics from this mornings load out. Tomorrow we will post pics of the happy pets that are staying with their families BECAUSE OF YOU!!

Holiday Supply Run deliveries are happening RIGHT NOW! 132 families. 415 pets. What does that load look like? ALLL OF THIS!! So many full happy bellies. Every cat and dog received a toy and treats. Keep an eye out for the pics and thank yous!! Send some good juju for all of our volunteer drivers. They have a wet afternoon ahead of them.

Hello friends. Just a quick reminder. Our mission is to help families keep their family pets while they go through temporary financial hardship. Keeping families TOGETHER rather than pets being surrendered to already over crowded shelters. Our program is not so that people can aquire more animals. Please do not contact us after we have agreed to help and tell us you need more supplies because you've just adopted another 4 days after applying for assistance. We hate having to say this. We hate feeling like the bad guy. We would literally feed every animal if we could. And we hate saying no, but we will. Please, do not get more pets if you are struggling to care for the ones you have. Thank you!

Our supporters are mind blowing amazing. This was today's deliveries with the driver saying there might be more on the late truck. THANK YOU!! ❤️
We are super busy sorting everything and getting ready for next week. We even put Chip to work breaking down boxes. The sign up is officially closed. If you are in dire need of supplies, please reach out. We will do what we can.

Holiday Run Update!!
Our friends are simply amazing. The donations and support just blows us away. This does not include donations from the Chewy list or gift cards. Or the donations from Concord Pet that are being picked up today and donations from supporters that are being picked up tomorrow and Monday.

As of noon on Saturday we are at 127 families signed up.
177 Dogs. 178 Cats. 22 "other".
Thats 377 animals that we are helping to stay with their families this holiday season.
We will be CLOSING signups tomorrow (Sunday) at noon. This comes down to logistics of coordinating deliveries for 127+ families and organizing the supplies for the event in EIGHT DAYS. There is only so much time in the day and all of our volunteers have full time jobs, personal pets, foster dogs, and families. If someone is in dire need after signups close, they can reach us via email or our regular signup form. We will do what we can.

**HELP NEEDED**
As of midnight Thursday night we have had 100 families sign up for our Holiday Supply Drive. This is well beyond the initial limit we set of 150 animals. And their situations are beyond heartbreaking. Some families are barely holding on . Some are without utilities. Some are technically homeless following a domestic abuse situation. But they are all doing everything they can to keep their pets with them. We dont want to say no to anyone. We want to help as many as we can. I will personally drive all day and night to get the supplies where they need to go, But we need the supplies to do so. So we have created an Amazon registry. Most needed are cat supplies. Weve also had sign ups with rabbits, parrots, fish, hamsters and even a gecko. They are all family. Can you help us help them? There are some wants on there as well. Toys, beds, treats. They are all extras, but very much appreciated. If you cannot help by purchasing, PLEASE SHARE!!

Holidays are always a difficult time for families that are fighting to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, lights and HEAT in their home. This years increase in the price of EVERYTHING makes it that much more difficult! The choice is often keeping necessities in the home, or taking care of the family pet. People shouldn't be faced with that choice. The owner surrender numbers are skyrocketing at every shelter, rescues slammed with owner surrender request. Pets being torn from their families simply because they cannot afford to feed their pet....
We are super excited to announce a Holiday Drive for families in need! Thanks to the generosity of Thorin's Promise, Tank’s Blankets and Concord Pets, we have enough supplies to bless at least 150 pets in our community this holiday season in Gloucester, Salem and Cumberland County, NJ. We will be delivering supplies and gifts to these families on 12/17/2023. We would love to expand to other areas, but we have a limited volunteer base and supplies at this time.

Good morning! We've been super busy behind the scenes, doing supply drops to those in need and coordinating vet care. Yesterday we did a pop up in a local under served neighborhood. Most residents don't have transportation and cannot make it to local pantries. The local stores they can get to increase the cost of basic pet supplies by 75%. A small bag of gravy train is $15. This sweet little girl was so happy to have food! We will also be dropping off other much needed supplies. We will continue to help these communities ❤️

Sweet Boo was seen by our friends at Providence last week for a mass on his gums. This sweet boy is only 2, and the mass looks rather concerning, so we had an exam and bloodwork done at his consult. Boo will be having surgery next Monday to have the mass removed and biopsied. His total bill is $500. We need to raise these funds to help Boo and continue to help others! Boo is so very loved by his mom, and we are so glad to be able to assist her. Any donations are so appreciated!!
