Jaidas Paws Rescue Inc

Jaidas Paws Rescue Inc A 501(c)3 small dog rescue. Located in Campbellsville Ky. 42718 We began to open our home to each and every dog / puppy and litters that came our way.

We have rescued, fully vetted, and found wonderful homes for each one. As we grew we felt the need to name the rescue and that is how Jaida's Paws Rescue came about. Jaida has and always will be the inspiration and passion we have for the babies. We lost Jaida in February of 2019 after 17 yrs of endless love. We wanted to carry on her legacy and have outgrown our home with so many babies in need

that we decided to build a new building. With only a handful of volunteers to help with the build and almost a year under construction it is finished. We will be able to help many babies in need and we are excited to be able to help the community even more with the over population of pets. All babies will continue to be seen by our vet to assure all are healthy and have all their medical needs met including spay / neuter and shots. We are a NO KILL facility meaning we will never euthanize for space. We have fenced in areas where the babies can get out and run/exercise and play daily. We will love, cuddle and care for each baby as we have always done and find each one the loving home they deserve. We take in the unwanted, those in danger, strays, dumped, puppy mill babies. Our goal is to educate the public on the importance of helping with the pet over population in the world by having pets spayed / neutered, and how to be proper and responsible pet owners. We will forever rescue in hopes that one day there will be NO strays, unwanted, dumped, abused, puppy mill, abandoned, unloved, or uncared for babies.

Introducing adoptable eight-month-old Jake!

This friendly, good-natured young hound mix is from a litter of ten puppies that were dumped on a remote country road in Adair County, Kentucky at just 13 weeks of age. Healthy but unvaccinated, most of them contracted parvo; our expert vet team and the miracle of monocloidal antibodies ensured Jake survived that deadly disease, and we're so glad he did!

The litter's daddy was part Treeing Walker Coonhound, a common breed in Kentucky, but their DNA test shows lots of other breeds, including Border Collie, Husky, and even Poodle!

Which explains why Jake isn't as "houndy" as some of his brothers. His coat is a unique fawn color, flecked with champagne - very striking - and his white paws, tail tip and chest blaze come from his border collie ancestors. He's a handsome and eye-catching dog!

Jake's personality is inquisitive, attentive, friendly, playful, and kind. He's food-motivated and easy to train, and is on his way to being well socialized to public places and meeting new people. He's a kid magnet, and shows gentle interest in children of all ages.

Jake gets along with all kinds of other dogs - big, small, old, and young, and plays well with others. He would be great in a home with kids and a big backyard to play in. We haven't tested him one-on-one with cats though! So a slow, supervised introduction would be recommended.

Jake is 8 months old, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and current on heartworm and flea-and-tick preventative. He weighs 35 lbs, and his mature weight range will be 50-60bs, according to his DNA results.

He is housebroken and crate trained; in fact, he sleeps comfortably in his crate overnight and when his foster mom is working. Jake is a very well-mannered young dog, and walks nicely on a leash with minimal correction. He'll be a terrific hiking, walking, or running companion, with his long legs and hound endurance.

We are currently accepting applications for this sweet handsome boy! Please comment, message, email, text or call for more info, we would love to hear from you!

Our Story

This rescue was founded by Sandra Benton and her husband Kenny, and little Jaida Marie. In 2004 Sandra had an accident and was in a wheelchair with doctors saying she may never walk again. Our very first rescue was a 4mo. Chihuahua named Jaida Marie, brought home by husband Kenny. Over the months following I feel that God sent her to me to get me out of that wheel chair. After a year she did just that. She also showed us how a “rescue” pet could turn your life around in so many ways. In 2005 we began to open our home to each and every dog / puppy and litters that came our way. We have rescued, fully vetted, and found wonderful homes for each one. As we grew we felt the need to name the rescue and that is how Jaida,s Paws Rescue came about. Jaida has and always will be the inspiration and passion we have for the babies. We lost Jaida in February of 2019 after 15 yrs of endless love. We wanted to carry on her legacy and have outgrown our home with so many babies in need that hubby decided to build a new building for the rescue to use. With only a handful of volunteers to help with the build and almost a year under construction it is finished. We will be able to help many babies in need and we are excited to be able to help the community even more with the over population of pets. All our rescued babies will continue to be seen by our vet upon intake to assure all are healthy and have all their medical needs met including spay / neuter and shots. We are a NO KILL facility meaning we will never euthanize for space. We have fenced in areas where the babies can get out and run/exercise and play daily. We also have inside areas, one with a “home setting” so the babies can get on the sofa and get that feeling of being loved again. We will love, cuddle and care for each baby as we have always done and find each one the loving home they deserve. We take in the unwanted, those in danger, strays, dumped, puppy mill babies as well as mothers with or expecting litters. Our goal is to educate the public on the importance of helping with the pet over population in the world by having pets spayed / neutered, and how to be proper and responsible pet owners. We have also grown into a 501(c)3 corporate team of volunteer animal lovers. They are not paid employees. Each one has and works a full time job yet volunteers their spare time to this rescue. We will forever rescue in hopes that one day there will be NO strays, unwanted, dumped, abused, puppy mill, abandoned, unloved, or uncared for babies.
