We’ve donated a lesson package for the raffle at the 3rd Annual Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser.

Weather permitting we will resume our lesson program as of April 1, 2025.

Note lesson slots are available ALL DAY on days listed, but they must be booked in advance.

Pony Rides and Arts and Crafts days will be WALK IN FRIENDLY, Saturday mornings from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

Horsemanship Thursdays are an unmounted horsemanship lesson accompanied by pizza and fun activities and are by reservation only. Students who attend three of these events will receive one free mounted half hour lesson.

Note this summer we will be taking part in small open horse shows with our students.

Note that while we are looking forward to April, we are not currently accepting visitors to the farm as quite honestly, you would have to pack your ice skates.

Arabian Horse Discovery Farm package! We love the opportunity to promote one of our favorite breeds.

Note that we are not currently offering lessons for the next couple weeks. In addition to winter, we’ve been down and out with various illnesses.

We’re looking into doing some different activities in the barn.

Watch for news on potential paint with ponies parties, story time with the horses, horsemanship nights, pony rides and more.

Okay guys.

Winter is here. We’ve got a couple super enthusiastic lesson kids, so let’s try to treat this New England winter like a challenge and give it our best effort.

Gloves are required for riding - it’s cold. They don’t have to be riding gloves but those ones with grips are the winners when it comes to holding reins.

Wool socks are your friend.

Note that if it RAINS lessons are probably canceled. If there’s an impending snow storm, we don’t expect you to show up. Safe driving conditions trump any cancellation policy.

And - winter riding snow pants are probably your best friend.

While the air quality is still perfectly okay here at the farm, the forest fire in Great Barrington is affecting nearby areas and so in addition to our lesson program being at the mercy of weather we are also monitoring air quality.

Note that we are perfectly content to run leadline lessons but that we may opt to cancel lessons involving more advanced work if conditions should change.

Normally at this time of year we’re at the mercy of snow.

Please note, as someone who has worked much smaller brush fires - if you don’t have a valid reason to be near this fire, then don’t be near it. Let those who need to work do so.

For those who have inquired - YES, we do have an Arabian stallion.

We are NOT currently booking breedings. We WILL begin working to change that in February or so, so just stay tuned.

Our goals for Cosmo do eventually include the breeding shed, but our primary focus is proving him as a sport horse in the coming year.

Meet Marie guys.

My social media is devoid of photos of the children who ride here - they do exist, I promise. Out of respect for them, and their families, I usually just wait for families to post photos about their time at the farm.

With Marie’s grandfather’s permission I’m sharing her today. I met Marie over the summer when her family brought her and her sister to the farm for one of our arts and crafts days. Both children were equally wonderful but Marie’s love for these animals was immediately apparent.

She hopped up that day and picked up the reins absolutely correctly - I asked her how many time she had ridden and she said none.

“How did you learn to hold your reins?” I asked.

“I read some and watched Heartland really closely.”

Marie has been riding with us a couple months now, but she doesn’t just ride. She cleans tack, she shoves hay nets, she cleans up manure. And in the few months I’ve known her I’m so proud of her personal growth.

So with her family’s permission, here is Marie on Rocky - off the lead line and off the lunge, working hard to perfect her skills every single week.

This is part of why I enjoy what I do here.

I know no one wants to think about it - but right after fall comes winter. As a facility without an indoor that means we’ve got to plan ahead and make other plans to support our animals.

We will be consolidating our program to three days a week for the cooler months.

This change will not affect currently scheduled clients.

We are still taking new clients for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. During those days we can provide private lessons, semi-private lessons and group bookings for riders of all ages.

We had cubs scouts at the farm this morning for an educational experience involving lectures on feed and care of horses.

They learned how to groom. Due to age restrictions put forth by the Boy Scouts of America we passed on saddle time - but the kids were able to learn some handling on the ground and practice leading our horses through an obstacle course in the ring.

We are available for group functions of this sort - we can customize the experience for your needs.

All ages.

Corporate team building? Yes. Scouts? Absolutely. Don’t want to handle your child’s birthday party? We can handle horse themed parties at our farm and help organize all the things- we’ll even clean up.
