Let's celebrate National Chocolate Cake day! YUMMY

But remember to NOT include you pup on this one! Chocolate can be toxic to your dog. Chocolate contains both theobromine and caffeine. Both of these chemicals can speed up the heart rate and stimulate their nervous systems.
There are varying and levels of toxicity depending on the type and amount of chocolate your pet consumes. Different types of chocolate have different concentrations of theobromine and caffeine.
The risk of your dog becoming sick from ingesting chocolate depends on the type and amount of chocolate consumed and your dog’s weight. The concentrations of these toxic substances vary among different types of chocolate.
Toxic chocolate can come in variety of ways;
Cocoa powder (most toxic)
Unsweetened baker’s chocolate
Semisweet chocolate
Dark chocolate
Milk chocolate

If your dog ingests chocolate contact your veterinarian.
