In between rain storms and haying, we've been busy catching up on weedwhacking, mowing, and painting in preparation for our Open Schooling and Timed Trail Ride this weekend and the Sugar Bush Event and Working Equitation on Saturday June 21. The gazebo got fresh stain and new roof. Several jumps have been rebuilt and repainted, and the cross country jumps are coming out of storage.

On May 17th we had a group of riders go to the first hunter pace of the season at Barneveld Horsemen's Association At Caernarvon Park. Then it was off to Mercer's Dairy for ice cream, and then on to Otter Creek for a little horse camping. Olivia Stevenson kept saying "Oh my god, I love this!", "This is so much fun!" and of course "Best vacation ever!" ("Best vacation ever" was probably due to Tori Duskas having a camper so we weren't roughing it.) The horses were great, trails were good, company was fantastic, and there was so much good food to eat that even the wet weather didn't spoil our grand adventure! Last Monday an amish crew started to pull off the old mare barn roof, and replace it with a new one. By Wednesday night the roof was complete, and they were packed up and headed home!

Curious about Working Equitation? Think it sounds fun, but not sure how to get started or to try it? Or maybe you just want to improve your communication with your horse when it comes to obstacles or to try something new?

Come to our Working Equitation Clinic on Sunday May 25th with USAWE Professional Instructor Bree Sprik! Groups of up to 4 riders will be introduced to the EOH (ease of handling) obstacles in a 2 hr format. All levels are welcome and will benefit from Bree's excellent instruction. Cost is $125/rider. Auditors are $20/day.

Turn it into a WE-ekend, and stay over for our schooling Memorial Day Show with a variety of tests and combined tests offered including Working Equitation! Stabling and camping available.

On MARCH 8TH, 2025 Rivendell Veterinary Care and Honeydew Acres will co-host a trailer-loading clinic. Our clinician is DJ Murtaugh of London, ON. He will open up his large bag of tricks of how to get a flight animal to walk into a dark cave. Multiple horses and different trailers will be used for the demonstration.
