WARNING: A word of helpful advice for reasons that we are passionate about. Please beware that in this part of OHIO there are many puppy farms, puppy mills, puppy wholesalers, and miss bred farm puppies that use adoption services to hide their unscrupulous breeding practices. These opportunistic breeders will show their puppies in a nice garage or a finished basement in order to hide the often in humane conditions that their puppies and mother dogs are kept. These puppies will have been treated as livestock, not someone's future best friend. They will likely not have been socialized with any other creatures other than their littermates, mothers and others in nearby cages/pens. The only way these breeders will stop breeding puppies is if good people like you stop supporting them. The "Vet check" that you will receive will only be a card with a vet's name on it with a few dates of vaccinations or deworming, it will not be a comprehensive long form vet check of your puppies overall health. Remember that it's not rescuing, it's enabling and creates the demand for cheap, misbred, mistreated puppies and poor living conditions for their mothers.
When visiting these breeders or looking at their low priced puppies remember that you get what you pay for and also what you don't pay for such as those listed above; plus higher vet bills over the lifetime of the puppy. Get your puppy from a reliable, reputable and responsible breeder where what you get is what you should expect from your breeder.
So ask your breeder if they are on a farm, how their puppies are and mothers are kept. Are they inside dogs, are they kennel dogs, are they barn dogs? All important questions to make sure that you get the dog you deserve and are paying for. While not supporting and enabling unscrupulous breeders.
