According to an American Kennel Club article, one in three pets will become lost or wander away from home during the course of their lives. Many never return.

Consider microchipping.

A microchip is a radio-frequency transponder that emits a unique identification number. Approximately the size of a grain of rice, the microchip can be scanned by animal services, veterinarians and/or shelters.

The chip is usually injected beneath your dog’s loose skin and shoulder blade, has no moving parts and requires no battery or power source.

Once in place, it is critical that the identification number is registered with a reputable, national pet recovery database. The life expectancy of today’s microchips is approximately 20 years and, in all likelihood, will last for your pet’s entire lifetime.

Going forward, a scanned microchip will ultimately link your dog with your name and contact information. It is critical that all registration information is kept up-to-date in the event of relocation or change in contact information.

There have been concerns regarding microchipping puppies younger than eight-weeks of age. That being said, any such procedure should always be discussed with your veterinarian.

Hey everyone!

I wanted to give you all a heads up about some fake "Dear Dachshund" pages popping up out there. These imitation pages are even commenting on other breeders' pages to attempt to trick people into visiting their illegitimate sites.

Right now, I’ve come across several imitation "Dear Dachshund" pages, some of which have already racked up thousands of followers!

I have a verified Instagram account with a blue checkmark, but I’m having a bit of trouble linking it to my page, even though they’re connected. Usually, I’d reach out to support for help with something like this, but since Facebook isn't overly supportive of breeding pages. I'm a bit worried that reaching out might lead to my page getting taken down, which would only make those fake pages look even more legitimate with their thousands of followers and my content they’ve stolen and posted.
I do have links to both my pages in my bio to help you guys out to know which is legit.

Because of all this, I’m considering stepping back from posting on Facebook at all for now.

If you want to stay updated, please follow me on my verified Instagram page and feel free to message me there! That way, we can clear up any confusion about which page is the real deal. Just make sure to look for that blue check mark on my verified Instagram account to ensure you’re connecting with the right page, due to there being so many fakes, you want to make sure you’re seeing my actual page.

It’s incredibly frustrating to watch people steal my content and make fake pages as my program name, after the hard work I’ve put into building my program/brand. FB doesn’t even take these pages down despite tons of reports.

Also, I want to clarify that I'm not working with anyone else—no relatives or partners. If someone claims to be associated with me, they’re not telling the truth!

Please make sure this is the exact link, there is a scammer site that is almost identical, just is missing the s.

I’ve heard that some scammers are even sending out fake websites, so please be cautious.
If you’re interested in anyone posted, definitely ask for a video! Asking for something specific, like bunny ears or something not easily stolen from online, can help you spot any illegitimate pages because they’ll likely just block you.

Due to FB cracking down on breeding pages lately I am posting this post written two different ways. One will also have a picture (this one) and the other one won’t. Just in case they take the post down.

I would like to bring to your attention the existence of multiple fraudulent "Dear Dachshund" pages. Additionally they are now actively commenting on the pages of other breeders to redirect individuals to their illegitimate platforms.

Currently, there are at least several imitation "Dear Dachshund" pages that I found, some even already have thousands of followers. While I do have a verified Instagram account marked with a blue check, I am experiencing difficulties in linking my verified IG account to this page, despite the fact that both accounts are connected. Normally this is something I would reach out to support to resolve but FB isn’t a fan of breeding pages to begin with. So I worry this would get my page taken down, making the imitation pages seem more legitimate.
I do have links to both pages in my bio (FB to IG and IG to FB).

With all of this, I am considering discontinuing posting to this Facebook all together. Please be sure to follow on IG and direct any messages to me through my verified Instagram account. This will help eliminate any confusion regarding which page you are engaging with.

Please ensure that you are looking for my verified Instagram page, as many counterfeit pages created by scammers are emerging. So double check for that blue check mark in the appropriate place. Unfortunately, I am absolutely helpless in this. FB does nothing to remove the fraudulent pages.

Additionally I am not affiliated with anyone else. I have no aunt, sister, uncle etc that I work with. If someone tells you they are associated with me they are lying to you.

I’ve also seen a few fake websites being sent by scammers when individuals message me to notify me of these attempts.

Please please please be sure to ask for videos of any you’re interested in! Ask for funny things like a bunny ears or something specific to be in the video that way if the person is illegitimate, they will just block you and you will save yourself the trouble.
