Until I became a barn owner and an owner of more than 2 horses, i never thought about how it would feel to have safe horses or ones rideable by others. Maybe not beginner safe, just safe. Yesterday I watched a young lady have a great time riding Heidi, she hadn’t been on a horse in about 6 months and Heidi is still green. The wind was horrible making noise she didn’t bat an eye. Moose, spectacular and anyone who knows him and the stories I have about him, may not believe me. I could have put anyone on him. Jenna said to me a couple weeks ago, you need to try a new bit on him. Well, I took her advice, the result WOW. New horse. Heidi, same thing. Never be so arrogant you don’t listen to someone because you think you know it all. No one knows everything. Pumpkin, awesome as usual. Even Addie was good with the wind and noise but I think having her best friend and someone else in the indoor helped.

What a way to start the morning. Heidi may not agree but it’s going to be our new routine. Up at 4am out the door by 435 and in the saddle by 5. I got to enjoy grooming my perfect grey mare and had an amazing ride. The barn is so peaceful. Granted, I own the facility, but where else can you ride 24/7. Nothing beats that morning workout.

We have 2 new geldings in the barn. Bringing the number up to 4 because Mac doesn’t really count. We also have 10 mares in the barn. All of them but 2 have “met” the big new guy and they have fallen head over heels for them. Especially the little lady who lives across from him. She’s madly in love. We had an indoor of high school “girls” falling over themselves because the new “player” was in the indoor working out. Pure comedy. Today he lucky was able to work by himself and enjoy his time alone with his rider.

It’s not all horses here. Black cats soaking in the sun and an oreo calf.

805pm, 3 boarders, 4 kids, a farm family member, and 5 horses. That was the best Tuesday night we’ve had in a long time. Being open 24/7, made it possible. The evening was full of laughter, smiles, friends helping friends, moms helping kids, friends telling kids to listen to their moms, friends helping kids, and of course some tears. Horses don’t care what time it is, they care you showed up.

2025 has arrived. Yesterday, Kim rode for the first time in over a decade. Luda was a champ for her. She did amazing! Talk about get your confidence back. Can’t wait to see her on Mr Merlin, her dream horse
Second day of the New Year, the red mare, the bay mare and the grey mare spent time in the indoor rocking it for their owners. All of us had a great first ride of the year. With plans made to do it more often. We got this ladies.
Lessons are picking up. With temps staying moderate it’s great for lessons, but we have to keep our snowmobiling friends in mind and hope we get more snow.
If you want to rock 2025 with us, give me a call/text. We have stalls available for board and time slots for more lessons.

What a weekend! First clinic out of the way. Reggy Oullette was busy this weekend, the ladies at the barn certainly were too! From getting their own horses ready and going, to getting the kids and theirs ponies into the arena for their sessions. Everyone helping everyone, The farm family we have is something special. Blessed is what we are.
Thank you to all of you. We made this weekend work. All of us!

The last 2 days have been very exciting at the farm. We welcomed the boys and girls club of Mi’kmaq Nation to the farm for a visit. Everyone was for the most part well behaved, Mac took the prize for being a rockstar as expected from the best mini ever! Pumpkin loved being groomed and fawned over by the kids today, she is a doll. And Luda, he was the man of the show, being the trusty riding horse he always is for the kids. Couldn’t be happier. And let’s not forget the chickens, kids even got to see them today.
Can’t wait for their next visit in the spring.

We are in the process of putting a clinic together with Reggy Oulette. Right now it’s looking like November 23-24. This will be a trail clinic for English and western riders. If we can get one or two more handlers who want to do this as an in-hand we will offer that as well. A little something for everyone. What a great way to introduce a young horse to obstacles and help gain their confidence. We are looking at $100 a day which includes one hour of discussion, all of us together when we arrive then we will be split into groups. Each group will have a one hour session in the AM and a one hour session in the PM. Lunch will be provided both days. Auditors welcome, $25 for the day, $40 for the weekend. Please contact Ariel at 518-231-2126 for more information.
