Hi! Long time no chat 😎 Many of you know that we've been busy working on opening up a dog boutique in downtown CJ, and I'm excited to say that PUP - the store will be opening at the end of this month on 8/30! We couldn't be more excited!

So what does this mean for WOOF? Unfortunately, we won't be accepting any new clients for the foreseeable future. I would LOVE to eventually be able to offer dog walking + pet sitting services via the store, but that is a ways off since I'm a one-woman show for the time being.

Thank you so much for the love and support over the past year and half. It means the world to me and because of you my dream of opening up a store is becoming a reality.🧡

Can't wait to see you all at the store and be sure to follow us on the social media for all the cool news and updates and stuff. Love you, mean it.

Hello Friends!

The Joplin Humane Society has 664 animals in our care. That is 404 cats (198 in the shelter and 206 in foster care), we are also caring for 260 dogs (26 in foster care and 234 in the shelter). Our capacity is approximately 215 dogs and 145 cats. As you can see, we have no more room for strays or owner surrenders until we get these numbers manageable.

As of 6/13/2024 our intake will not be receiving pets (emergency only) until further notice. If you have a lost pet please visit the shelter and complete a lost pet walk through, utilize all social media outlets, call every shelter/vets office in the area, and download the Nextdoor App.

In an attempt to reduce the number of pets in the shelter we are offering a "NAME YOUR OWN PRICE" ADOPTION SPECIAL. There are so many pets needing our help but have run out of room. So, to increase our open kennel space, we are having this very special adoption event that will go through Sunday, June 30th!!

What will you get with your new family member? They have had spay/neuter surgery; age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies if old enough; initial de-worming; flea treatment; and microchip. All dogs have been heartworm tested and started on preventative.

Let’s make this June unforgettable by finding forever homes and foster homes for all of our furry friends. Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to see you at the shelter!
