Place is a powerful tool we love to use with our dogs to get that calm state of mind. You can use it throughout the day when it best fits into your schedule - when you’re cooking in the kitchen, watching television, on a call, or before/after a walk. With repetition and consistency, you’ll quickly begin to see the results! If you need help getting started, reach out!

As humans, we know how to condition relaxation - through exercise, yoga, meditation, breath work, hobbies, etc. Can we help our dogs relax and enjoy a calmer state of mind? Absolutely! We can achieve similar results for them when we utilize place and crate time throughout the day. It helps slow down their brains, gives them a job, helps them find their “off” switch. Place and crate are just a part of the calm brain recipe. Sprinkle in some structure and rules & you’ll be amazed at what can happen! If you aren’t sure where to start, reach out!

✨ NALA ✨

Nala is a 4 year old Labradoodle who is just as sweet as can be!

Main goals: Stop jumping on people, no more counter surfing, good cafe manners, calm state of mind when visitors come over as well as when out and about in public.

Nala’s owners are ready to take the next step in her training, so we’ll to be working on her state of mind, impulse control, fine tuning obedience, and creating clear rules & structure. Stay tuned for Nala’s progress!

Progress actually works by taking small incremental steps - and over time - those little steps will lead to massive gains.

If you’ve ever trained for a marathon, you know that you don’t go right out of the gate running 26.2 miles! You start your training modestly and slowly adding mile upon mile, gradually increasing both speed and distance, over days, weeks, and months. The final goal is race day, but each of those training days were victories in and of themselves.

How does this relate to training with your dogs? It’s the same! Small steps lead to big success. Start by adding structure, rules, and hold your dog accountable. Consistently working daily on place, thresholds, crate, and structured walks, is laying the groundwork. You can then build on that knowledge by adding in distractions, creating more challenging situations, going outside of their comfort zone. Just as training for the marathon, there will be good days and there will be bad days - but use that as an opportunity to find the weakness and build it up better and stronger. Step by step you can reach your goals!

M I R A 🥰

She’s a 9 month old mix breed, looking to improve her manners.

We’ll be working on all the basics, she’s had an an amazing start, but we’ll be adding structure, rules, and a calm mindset.

Place command, recall, heeling, and good manners on a walk are our top priorities.

She’s a super sweet little girl - it will be fun to watch her progress over these two weeks.
