Little Bit Ranch & Rescue We take in the animals most others can't or don't want to take. Each gets a chance to heal inside and out. They talk, we listen.

Good morning and HAPPY SUNDAY from Hoofprints and all the LUCKY kids and elders who are with us.
PLEASE READ THIS IN FULL……I am very transparent in what I say and what we do here.
I am not a begger but I MUST ask for help. I am preparing for the months ahead and the ones that have not even arrived or know they will be in the position of slaughter being sent to die the horrible death. They did not choose this!!!
My expenses are astronomical. I DO NOT like asking for help but I know if I do not ask for support and contributions that my ability to save the numbers I have been able to save will be drastically reduced.
I am in TEXAS as many of you know. Drought is real as it gets in this part of the world. We have one place that has gotten rain and another that has not had any. Our hot days are in the wings and on the way. AS OF NOW THERE IS A GREAT SUPPLY OF HAY IN SOME AREAS NOT REAL FAR. When I am purchasing hay I always talk to the producer on what I am using it for. I have a producer that has offered me some hay for only $10 over baling expense. $40 roll. I must act on this now. I will be able to get about 100 bales that will be avaialable from him. That is great deal but I need some help making this happen. I offered him a receipt for donation and he said NO MA’AM that is one what I am doing it.
My July feed bill is over 10K of feed I have picked up. Yes I am on the program to be able to get rebates and that comes quarterly. We have vet bills and medical supply expenses as well. Right now I am feeding $280 of ALfalfa and every 36hrs. That is not included int he feed bill. Another local who is hauling it in selling for $160 bale and selling to me for $140. PTL for good people.
NOW….the questions is why so much…I have over 100 head of rescues. Babies not being counted and some still out here way. WHY???? We have endured a horrible strain of strangles that has come in with these guys and let me say….It has been hell….SO when some get to look at homes in 30 days…Some have been here 60-90 days and still climbing the hill to get back to good healthy happy condition. Some get to leave to go QT with their new families but for the most part. They are here and while we have several available on the bounce back and that can continue to get healthy with their new families there are those that are looking at more time….They are here for another 30-60 days. Multiple mare/foal pairs that come in. We all know the condition of the mares and as babies grow progress is slow. I use a complete cube that we pasture feed daily for these little families.
I use a NUTRENA feed program and have for years. Spent a lot of time with the nutritionist this past week figuring how I can get the biggest bang for the buck.
Again…I am glad I am able to house and pasture as many as I do and I am not topped out by any means on space and land but I can not do this alone.
I am not a begger and never have been. I feel like I am very good at what I do. I have one hand who puts many hours a week into hauling and helping make this happen. We do not charge enough to even cover expense when we haul and many times we charge nothing. The fuel and time is still an expense on our end.
The 3 F’s to RESCUE
*FIXING-Do whatever it takes to get these horses on the road to recovery to be the best they can be and live a good life.
*FINDING-finding the perfect match for their new home-sometimes that is before they are even ready to leave and sometimes it could take 3 months or longer and then you have to to factor in for those that no one wants to step up to the plate for so they are most likely gonna live their life out at HOOFPRINT TRAILS.
*FUNDING-this is the tricky one….bailing these guys cost…I get it but if they are not put in a better position then we are not doing them justice and not doing our part as a RESCUE and REHAB. The expense truly starts AFTER bail. I work 2 businesses besides the mission I do to also help feed hungry people as well as paying my feed bills. I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO NEEDS SUPPORT and please do not take this post that way. I AM RICH WITH KNOWLEDGE AND LOVE but FINANCIALLY I CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT SOME OUTSIDE HELP. I DO NOT WANT TO SLOW DOWN. I LIVE AND BREATH WHAT I DO.

We are always open to any and everyone who wants to contribute and donate to any of these guys. Takes a village and no one person can do this alone. Please specify if you want your donation to go to a specific horse or care.

***VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION THAT I WANT MADE VERY PUBLIC…WE ARE AN OPEN GATE POLICY MEANING: YOU OR ANYONE ELSE is welcome at our place anytime. Came drop by for a short visit or stay a while. Bring your diddy bag and stay overnight. I have plenty of room. That is just how we operate. Not only do our animals eat good so do our guest.
Meet some of our LUCKY ONES and some of my personal critters. YOU WANNA KNOW ABOUT A SPECIFIC ANIMAL….ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK..IT IS THAT SIMPLE….
Lately there has been a lot of haters slamming my name around. I have zero to hide and for those negative drama folks….they will forever be doing that and being screen warriors. I let all that roll off me like water off a duck. I feel they are giving someone a break that maybe don’t handle it as well as I do…
***PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH WHOEVER YOU FEEL WOULD LOVE TO BE A PIECE OF THE PUZZLE….THESE ANIMALS NEED US AND US IS THE VILLAGE. Contributions of any size are appreciated. One bag of feed is 4 $5 contributions or paying for a load of the hay….we haul 18 rolls at a time $720. AGAIN REMEMBER this is not all for right this minute to use up…preparing for the time when hay will be $150 a roll again and knowing we can not do that and that is when the consumption is 2-3x what it is now due to not having grass.

You're 'udder'-ly the best!💐💕

This is why my rescue page is still open. So we’re available to assist folks needing to home horse (we have a great referral system to other rescues and private homes available for intakes), plus so I can keep posting updates on past horses.
Thanks to the rescue page still being active, I was able to be reunited with one of my personal horses!!

Duster, the little orphaned c**t that came in with Mamacita but wasn’t her foal (she almost killed him) is doing AWESOME in his AMAZING home!! First 2 pics are when he was with us at the rescue.
Last pic is his current one with winter coat starting to shed out 🥰

It is saddening news to pass along that Big Momma aka Mamacita’s adopter let me know that 2 wks ago she passed away. 😭

It is with complete sadness that I pass along the information from Miracle's adopter that he went down with colic and not even the vet couldn't save him 😭 He was saved by a group of angel donors that bailed him from Last Chance Direct Ship Horses Christmas Eve 2022. From that point on, he knew nothing but love as a companion horse.

RIP Miracle, my sweet gentle giant

Adoption update!
Formerly Tag 1222 of Last Chance Direct Ship Horses that we rescued Dec 21, 2022!
We named him Ford. He was adopted last summer by a talented horse trainer that renamed him Spaceman. Today his adopter said, "Well he's pretty damn nice he's gonna win some money and he's not even two yet I've got 7 rides on him and he rides like a broke horse!"

2yr old Labradoodle is looking for a new home. Cookie is neutered, current on all vaccines, house and crate trained, great with kids, loves the water and to run outside. He's a big sweetheart and a bit goofy. Located just N of Weatherford, TX.

Backstory: He was bonded as a baby very tightly with his sibling so the folks bought both dogs. Now the siblings can't tolerate each other. He belongs to a close friend of our rescue group. She is only placing him for the safety of the original pup they picked out and so her kids don't end up hurt in the middle of their squabbles, and it's not fair to always have one crated while the other is out. She is asking a $100 rehoming fee to insure a serious home.

Please message us if you're interested. We will forward her the homes that seem like the best possible fit.

Update on the little foal with Lot 625, her new name is Faye and she's doing GREAT in her adopted home❣️
