ures, ideas…quilting or otherwise. A little about me…I'm a mom of 3 (22, 18, and 13), a life coach (feel free to inquire about my coaching services), and I do some dog walking on the side (because I love it). I am blessed to live near the ocean. I can often be found sitting on the cliffs, reading a book, and drinking a diet coke. Otherwise, you can look for me on my bike or on the trails walking the dogs. If all else fails, I'm most likely sitting at my sewing machine. There is nothing quite as peaceful as getting lost in the feel of the fabric and the hum of the machine.

I normally struggle a bit to figure out color combinations when ordering yarn (or fabric) online. But I think this worked out quite well and love how it turned out.

And I loved this “Bloom Blanket” pattern by As a newbie crocheter I really appreciate well written patterns with lots of pictures, and this one fit the bill. Plus, she has video tutorials which are great.

Help me out, what colors should I use for the next one because there will definitely be more.

Six weeks later, I’ve completed my first ever granny square blanket. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. And guess what? It’s completely square without having blocked it 😊.

I have no idea what I’m going to do with it once I’m done admiring my work 🤭. Keep? Gift? Sell? What do you think?

Pattern is Peaches and Cream by with a slight modification. My attention span waned (shocking) so there are a few less border rows than the pattern.

I recently started back at crochet after decades away and knew I needed to make this pattern by It’s so darn cute and the perfect gift for a special new baby who will be here very soon 💕. I can’t wait to meet baby girl and am even more excited for Maren to have a new friend.

Did you know that my wildly talented friend has a new book out? It’s called “Rainbow Quilt Color Method” and is absolutely gorgeous!!!! The photos and quilts and colors are breathtaking. Beyond the eye candy, the book is chock full of color theory, tips, techniques, and clearly written patterns, all of which are precut friendly. There is a nice combination of simple pieced quilts, paper piecing, and applique with technique suggestions included. And, if rainbow isn’t your jam, every pattern comes with alternate color and/or monotone suggestions. Truly, this book is for everyone and it’s simply gorgeous, in case I didn’t mention that.

I chose to make the pattern “Eden” (pictured) and it turned out so pretty. It is all half square triangles and super simple to make. With the help of my cutting and trimming all those HSTs was a breeze. I actually search out patterns with HSTs because I love my Bloc_Lock rulers so much 😁.

When asked what colors the recipient of this quilt likes, I was told “think clown” 😂😂😂
Ok, bright scrappy quilt it is.

This quilt is now living in Portland proving healing energy and lots of love and support to one of .babe friends who is recovering from surgery.

Breast cancer struck again, so I did what I do best … I gathered all my favorite sherbet color fabrics, cut em up, infused love and prayer into every stitch then sent it on its way to provide healing powers to my friend

If you don’t follow Deb, I encourage you to. She makes the most adorable little clay nuggets and her feed is guaranteed to make you smile.

I haven’t posted in such a long time. Don’t worry, I’m still working here (when I’m not smooching my grandbaby). I’ve just been a bit Instagram lazy 🤪

Anyway, this customer quilt by Debbie is just too pretty not to share. The quilting is “simple” in the ditch, and sometimes simple is the most effective.

Thank goodness for my big supply of rulers. I had one that was the perfect arc to quilt the rings.

And, as always wool gave this quilt just the right amount of p**f to make these rings pop. If you don’t use Quilters Dream batting in your quilts yet, you should start immediately! You’ll be happy you did, I promise.

Thank you for your friendship, for the laughs, for your support when things were tough and for all your sarcasm the rest of the time. Mostly, thank you for loving me, my kids, and my mama and for keeping us all looking young! I’m going to miss you so much.

I hope this quilt reminds you how special you are and how much you’re loved.

Born in the wee hours just after Thanksgiving.

Watching my daughter bring her daughter in to the world was absolutely magical.

And this Grandma would like to stop time and simply snuggle this perfect little nugget.

Look what I made. And guess who I made it for 👶🏻? This is the first of many many quilts for my baby granddaughter

I gifted it to at her baby shower today and she said “and you even finished it on time” 😂🤣. For those of you who know me well, you can appreciate the comment.

The combo of fabric on top and cuddle on back makes for a perfect first quilt for baby girl 💕

I’ve been behind the scenes playing around with some scrumptious new fabrics by
🎉🥳🎊

The new fabric line is called Rainbow Sherbet with . Although I can’t show you the entire quilt, I can tell you I’m going to celebrate its finish with a nice big bowl of rainbow sherbet tonight 😋.

These fabrics are absolute perfect blenders and they stand on their own quite beautifully too. I’m definitely going to be buying myself a FQ bundle or two to fill in, as I have several quilt gifts coming up and these fabrics/colors will be perfect accent colors.

PS. All colors are Ginger approved 🥰

2024 mostly revolved around Miss M. She was an itty bitty little nugget this time last year and now she’s scootching around wreaking havoc, expressing strong opinions with zero words, and bringing so much joy to my life. And apparently I finished up a fair number of quilt and crochet projects throughout the year. Wishing everyone a blessed, healthy and peaceful 2025 🥂

All I can say is thank goodness I checked the back before I cut it off the frame! I’ve had my machine 3-1/2 years and this is the first time I’ve ever had a problem with the thread coming out of the tension disk. This is a good lesson to NEVER become complacent and always check the back before unloading. I’ll be unpicking and re-quilting now 🤦🏻‍♀️. #longarmquilting #machinequiltingtips
