Our sweet Alex has been on an adventure this week. His foster momma had to have surgery. So we are keeping him until she’s home. Alex started at Stephanie’s house but it’s a little rowdy with 4 cats and 4 dogs (1 of them being a 100 lbs Labradoodle). So, he spends the day at the sanctuary with Buddy, Lucy and Pork Chop. Then he spends the night with Aunt Sarah, Lilo, Stitch and Bella. Alex is going to be exhausted once he gets home. But he’ll have a lot of stories to tell mom! He’s like a little hobbit on an adventure! 😂 Alex is so cute and so sweet. We love having him with us!❤️ 🐶

Thank you to Sunrise On Old Meridian for allowing us to visit your precious seniors. Pork Chop, Sir Renegade and Lucy were perfect angels 👼 allowing the seniors to pet them if they wanted to. Renegade paid a special visit to a sweet lady who is on hospice care and also fell and broke her hip. This sweet lady loves dogs but couldn’t get out of bed to see Renegade. So, the team member had us put him on her bed for her and took a picture for her family. ❤️We love our Seniors Helping Seniors program using our furry family to bring joy, happiness and love on visits like these.

We love being able to share our blessings with others in need. Merciful H.E.L.P. Center donated these coats to us. Most were x large so we then gave them to for their unhoused clients with dogs. This is one of those dogs! We love linking arms and paws 😊together with other organizations in our communities. There are so many people and animals hurting and in need of basic services and care. Let’s all be kind and help each other when we can.

More updates on Luna Rose and Smoochie! They are doing awesome in their new home. We knew Luna would adjust quickly but were concerned about Smoochie since she’s visually impaired. Their new momma has adopted many special needs cats and dogs and knows exactly what to do!❤️😻🙏 ❤️

Our year started off fantastic! Smoochie (from Johnson County Animal Shelter) and Luna Rose (from Wabash County Animal Shelter, Inc. Wabash, Indiana) both got adopted on 1/7. And the best part….they went together to their new home!!! Our hearts are so happy for our sweet girls. Thank you Miss Donna for giving our girls a brand new perfect life!!!

2024 is almost in the books! You still have time to make a year-end donation. We are very excited to offer you another option! We worked with our bank and have a brokerage account now. So, you can donate stock to us if that is a better option. We can then sell the stock immediately for cash! Please have your broker email us directly at: [email protected]. Stephanie, our Executive Director, will work with them directly and give them all the necessary information to make the stock transfer quick and painless. When you’re exhausted from your vet visit AND you’re waiting for your foster mom to stop talking so you can go home….😂

Frisky did great! She had an exam, her eyes stained (corneal ulcers), vaccines and a nail trim. Her heart murmur seems to be worse. She’s coughing more at home. So, we are starting her on a heart med and have cough medicine for her to try. Frisky also got more eye drops. Poor thing is totally blind and runs face first into things sometimes, hence, the ulcers. Why treat them if she’s blind? Because they can be painful. Thank you to Julianna Cox and Dr. Watkins at VCA Companion Animal Medical Center for taking your time with her and for being so sweet and gentle with her. 🐾🐕‍🦺❤️🩺🥼👩‍⚕️

Look at sweet Smoochie! Isn’t she the cutest? Thank you to Catlynn Cunningham for coming to the sanctuary to groom her. Smoochie was badly matted and needed to be shaved down. We’ve been trying to brush her for months and get them out ourselves. We gave up and finally called in the professional! 😂 Smoochie doesn’t groom herself so she really needed the extra help. And…..we have such great news…..Smoochie is being adopted!!!! 👏👏👏We are so excited for her. And……better yet….Luna Rose is being adopted with her!!!! Stay tuned. We will update you when they go to their new home.🌹❤️🙏🐱🐾😊🎉🎈🎊
