Everyone that has had appointments in the last four-five days already knows but everyone coming up may not. The EXTREME weather has really messed up the schedule! From low temps(10• and less) at my facility even with extra heaters,heating pads, and wrapping water lines the water still FROZE in the work rig! Fast forward to today with freezing rain making everything in to a luge track (the bus is not the best bob-sled) and now snow is starting to fall! 😢 So the schedule is a little messed up for the folks I missed as well as the appointments coming and I appreciate everyone’s patience! I wanna give a HUGE shoutout to all of my customers for being so kind and caring. From giving me updates on their roads and driveways, to helping me get unstuck in the first round of ice and snow last week, and just thanking me for being safe for their pups and myself! Thank you again everyone, please stay safe and warm 🖤🖤

11/27/23 Attached a second photo that explanations some of what is going on from A vet in Maine, as of now one of the main areas that are able to study this in dogs is coming out of New Hampshire.
The main thing that has been fluctuating during my research of this is the cure and treatment of it. Most pets that seem to have caught this new strain end up hospitalized because of the effects on the lungs. 

As many of you have heard there is a illness spreading in the dog community. All pet professional’s have been working together to keep track of spreading cases and symptoms. The yellow highlights are heavy number of cases, and the red dots are the new spread zones. Vets still can’t determine if this is spreading by air,contact or by fungus. That’s what is making this so dangerous and hard to treat. Please make sure your pets are updated on their vaccinations. DO NOT allow your pet to use community water/food dishes, AVOID dog parks and large gatherings of dogs, if your pet goes to dog boarding over the holidays keep them at home for TWO weeks to watch for symptoms. Be careful with dog outings and daycare. Symptoms include: ⭐️coughing ⭐️runny nose. ⭐️green discharge ⭐️eye and nose discharge ⭐️cough starts like kennel cough but leads to pneumonia which can be deadly
If you have more then one dog an one starts showing symptoms, separating them as soon as possible is the best option.
I am not a vet, but a very concerned pet professional. I will continue to do my best at keeping up to date and sharing that information with all of you 🖤

Update: November 24th: I have some meetings set up for Monday to talk with a few of the local vets(in my area), to get better terminology on the best way to explain what this is 🖤

Good article on the latest information on the novel dog pneumonia from a PhD Immunologist. She cites Dr. Dr. David Needle's work at UNH in isolating a "snippet of DNA that is similar to that found in mycoplasma species."

"It has not yet been confirmed if a new (or known) mycoplasma bacterium is responsible for illness in dogs but it may fit the profile. Mycoplasma are small bacterium that are difficult to culture and do not have cell walls and are therefore resistant to beta-lactam based antibiotics. Beta-lactam based antibiotics include penicillin and it’s derivatives, cephalosporins, cephamycins (cephems), monobactams, carbapenems, and carbacephems. Mycoplasma are also resistant to vancomycins and teicoplanins.

"In human infections with mycoplasma tetracyclines (tetracycline, doxycycline, and minocycline) are often recommended (except for pregnant women and neonates).

"This may explain reports that occasionally the mystery infection is responsive to antibiotics. It may depend on which antibiotic is used."

"If it is mycoplasma, this pathogen can live for several days, even weeks at room temperature outside of the body and is resistant to drying."

"Be sure to have a conversation about sterilization procedures with your groomer and anyone else that may be caring for your pet to help reduce spread. Typically a 10% bleach based solution left on a surface for 10 minutes or longer will kill the vast majority of known pathogens."

I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO PLEASE SPEAK WITH THEIR LOCAL VETS ON THIS MATTER! Do your own research as well. This is NOT meant to scare you or cause you to hide your pets away. This post is strictly to bring what’s going on to your attention and give you some of the SYMPTOMS that can be produced from this. Please NOTE some of these symptoms do coexist with the yearly normal bugs. High traffic areas, sharing food and water are major spreading reasons just like in humans.

This post was originally just for my small town and valley I lived in, I wasn’t prepared for its to be shared so much. BUT because it has, like stated above I will be talking with my local vets to give you all better terminology on the matter ♥️

With holiday’s approaching this is my yearly reminder…. Pets are NOT PRESENTS, they are 10+year commitments! I personally have owned two dogs that were just left behind and have rehoused over 30 dogs over the years. I’ve been in the business for 12+ years, and every year people will get dogs as presents. Then those poor dogs are dumped in shelters,on the streets, or ditched at salons and boarding facilities. Because people didn’t want them to begin with, “didn’t realize how much work they were”, or they decide AFTER getting the dog that their lives just aren’t set up for owning a dog.

Hello community! Please attend the discussion this Saturday regarding the Tolt dam. This not only hinders carnation but our FELLOW communities! (Fall city, Duvall, Monroe etc) Will all be affected as well. So please come attend the discussion! The more people the better. Learn your risk and hold Seattle accountable for our lives, homes, businesses and communities!

Seattle has fallen short and has only recently decided to start addressing their failures.

Some of the talking points:

⭐️ complete disregard for our senior citizens and citizens that are now suffering from ptsd due to their negligence

⭐️Not taking into account that when the dam fails it will most likely be from a earthquake, which will lead to cracked roads(so driving out of town might be off the table) we don’t know if the evacuation hill will hold, and there won’t be a landslide.

⭐️NOT communicating directly with our city council as the top three phone calls to make when the siren is set off

⭐️no safety measures put in place to safe guard the failing system buttons that set off the dam failure siren

⭐️stating that they can’t put in a multi tone siren system when in fact pierce county has a model they could fallow that DOES have multi tones.

⭐️not communicating with king county on population size to safely be able to evacuate.

⭐️zero transparency with the community on siren failures

⭐️No signs warning people coming into town the siren is going off/ nothing for members that are deaf

There looks to be a loose blue healer mix type dog across from big rock fire station it darted toward batten road through peoples property it looks terrified so I don’t think it live close by. Saw it about 20 minutes ago I was driving and couldn’t post.

It’s been brought to my attention that a section of Duvalls dogs are coming down with kennel cough. Kennel cough can be spread very easily! If your dog is showing any symptoms please take your dog to the vet and we can reschedule your appointment. Kennel cough is most dangerous to puppies, old dogs, and ones with pre existing conditions. Kennel cough is an air way infection, most dogs get it from high traffic areas such as: dog parks, frequently walked trails, dog boarding and dog daycare facilities etc. Please help prevent the spread and keep everyone’s pets safe ♥️

We love our clients at our grooming salon but sometimes people forget we are humans and have families too.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

Hello everyone!!

FRIENDLY REMINDER: please, please, please make sure your driveway is safe for us to travel on.

1:Make sure there is no low hanging branches or trees ( our solar panels are on top of the bus and are getting damaged from trees)

2: if your driveway is gravel or dirt make sure we are NOT GOING TO GET STUCK. We are heavy and will sink in grass and non-compact dirt!

3: if you have steep driveways PLEASE CLEAR THE LEAVES, again we are heavy and need to get traction in order to not slide down your hill.

4: please make sure there are no cars or equipment blocking our ability to access your home or space to turn around. We strive to be as safe as possible with this process but it helps relieve the possibility of anything getting damaged.

So if you are close to me or know my family you know we are having a rough time right now, with the sudden death of a family member, and one currently passing away. I’m doing my best to stay on top of everything while taking things in stride. Bare with me as I make my way through this difficult time while keeping my spirits up. If you know me well, family is everything 🖤 I haven’t forgotten about any of you and have seen all your messages, but recently have taken a few days to spend with my family. ( which has been very much so needed) Im diligently working on getting everyone a time slot or letting you know when your next appointment is. Thank you all to the for showing love, understanding and compassion during this difficult time. Thanks for being the best clients a girl could ask for ♥️♥️

This handsome little spud is Bandit 🖤
The hardest part about being a groomer is watching all the pups get older. I have had Bandit come to me from a young age to now where the old man needs breaks to lay down. It’s bittersweet seeing the pups get older but I’m happy that I can provide a safe and accommodating environment as they age. (Picture is after the bath during drying)
