At Band-Aid Barn LLC I haven’t got to this point yet… I still apologize for going up even just the tiniest amount on my prices. I have even cut my very minimal profit to not go up too much for my customers. My expenses have increased while my small profit has decreased. Small business is hard especially when you are the owner, manager, book keeper, laborer, animal care team, counselor, secretary, maintenance person, customer service etc. I know I’m not making smart business decisions. … I just wanna “help” people, their pets and horses but this kind of help is not helping myself or my business. … feeling alittle confused as what to do….???? 🤷🏼‍♀️

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip?'

'It was great, Dad.'

'Did you see how poor people live?' the father asked.

'Oh yeah,' said the son.

'So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father.

The son answered:

'I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.'

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.'

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends! Refresh their perspective and appreciation.

How frustrating…. I sent this to a lady today.

It would have been at least “nice” to be informed that you/your sister were not going to stay at my farm. I turned down SEVERAL potential customers as you were to occupy 4 stalls, guest house and 1 hook up. You made this reservation a month in advance on February 21st 2022. I also checked in with you several times to make sure you were still coming. Then on March 2nd you canceled the hookup and 2 stalls. You told me that you still wanted to rent the guest house and 2 stalls. We prepared for your stay with us. You/your sister did not show up nor did I receive a call or text to inform that you were not coming. This is financial hurtful to me as this business is how I support my family. I am a small business so I aim to please and provide the best service I can to EVERY customer. Think about this next time you make plans/reservations and don’t even have the decency to respond or inform the business of your cancellation. This is why most places charge a deposit or cancellation fee. I should probably reconsider charging a deposit and/or cancellation fee. Lesson learned.

You can have a worry free vacation! Since the boarding is slow right now I also possibly can do pet care in your home if it’s not too far. Opening up my options to get “things rolling” again..
