The Life and Times of Tully Mae, a Little Cairn Terrier

If you aren't familiar with cairn terriers, our ancient homeland is Scotland. The word "terrier" is French and means "earth dog" (from the Latin 'terra'). We were bred to hunt out vermin and other critters from the Scottish stone fences, which are called cairns. We like to dig into the ground and even have tournaments to hunt mice in small u

nderground tunnel networks. We also hunt small game like rabbits and foxes. By nature we are den animals, and like to rest and sleep in small, dark spaces where we feel most secure - these are our safe spaces. Everyone probably knows at least one cairn terrier - Toto - from the Wizard of Oz. And, many people say we look like the Ewoks from Star Wars, but Cairns were here first, so they look like us. and sometimes very stubborn, but we LOVE our people.
