A note from the owner, Kerry. There are a few things I’ve learned over the years from being an owner of successful businesses and having Saint Bernards. There are challenges to owning a business and responsibilities with training and caring for my family of Saint Bernard’s. But I’ve always lived by some simple rules that have always worked to ensure that my teams and clients receive the best of me when working together. Maybe this will work for my fellow businesses. Let me know what works for you and if your ideas will work for me, id love to hear about them!
🌟Kerrys Gentle Guide to Simple Acts of Kindness and Respect 🌟
We live in a world where little gestures can make a big impact. Here’s a gentle reminder of 11 simple ways to leave a positive mark and show others they matter:
1. Normalize saying, “I don’t know anything about that yet, but I’ll find out and get back to you.”
You don’t need all the answers, but you do need to show you’re willing to learn.
2. The sound of someone’s name is their favorite—remember it and they’ll always remember you.
Taking the time to learn someone’s name shows them you see and value them.
3. Praise others publicly, critique privately.
People with respect never disrespect others in front of a crowd. Critiques should be quiet conversations, not public shaming.
4. True leadership is about helping others grow, not just enhancing your own wealth.
The best leaders lift others up.
5. Keep your phone on silent when you’re with others.
Give people your full attention—being present is a gift.
6. Hold the door open for someone.
Simple courtesy, big impact.
7. Never underestimate the power of helping others.
A small act of kindness can change someone’s whole day.
8. Under promise, over deliver.
If you can, go the extra mile. It builds trust and respect.
9. Take note of important dates, even if they’re not important to you.
Remembering them shows you care.
10. Say “please” and “thank you.”
These words never go out of style—they can brighten someone’s day.
11. Leave every space better than you found it.
Whether it’s a room, a conversation, or a moment—leave behind something positive for the next person.
