We had a very special Cavalier King Charles visit today!

Rupert, Louis, Clementine, and Millie visited us for their annual appointments.

What made their visit so special? Together, they represent all four Cavalier colors:

✨ Louis – Blenheim
✨ Clementine – Tri-color
✨ Rupert – Ruby
✨ Millie – Black & Tan

This crew is as sweet as they are beautiful! 🤩

🐾 Tick Season Reminder! 🕷️

Check out these photos—one of a plump tick we removed during a visit, and another of a tiny tick nymph before it ever had a chance to feed. Hard to believe they start out that small, right? Those little specks are incredibly easy to miss, which is why ticks often attach and feed long before anyone realizes they’re there.

Unfortunately, tick-borne illness is very real in our area. We have had two patients pass away this year from kidney failure caused by Lyme disease. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s a reminder of how important prevention is.

✅ Regularly check your pets after outdoor adventures, especially around ears, armpits, between toes, and under collars
✅ We offer excellent tick preventions for dogs AND cats
✅ Lyme vaccines for dogs
✅ Guidance on what to do if you find a tick

Protecting your pet is so much easier—and safer—than treating tick-borne disease after it strikes. If you’d like to make sure your pet is protected, give us a call. We’re here to help keep them safe, healthy, and tick-free.

Happy Halloween!

We’d love to say our boys enjoyed dressing up for Halloween as much as we enjoyed putting them in their costumes… but that would be a total lie. They hated every second of it!

Meet our clinic cat Cliché. He is a professional sleeper, treat connoisseur, and apparently part-time medical supply thief.

This week, Cliché decided that the tie from a surgical mask was a delicious new snack. (Spoiler: it was not.)

Luckily, our team caught him in the act and induced vomiting before it could become a linear foreign body obstruction, which can be life-threatening.

The good news:
Cliché is totally fine and back to his regularly scheduled hijinks.
The bad news:
He is still not sorry.

Lesson of the Day:
Cats (and dogs!) can and WILL eat the strangest things—mask strings, ribbon, yarn, hair ties, dental floss—you name it. These long, stringy items can cause the most dangerous type of obstructions and often require emergency surgery.

If you ever see your pet chewing or swallowing something they shouldn’t, call your vet right away. Quick action can help them avoid surgery and maybe even save a life.

Stay safe, watch those strings, and give your pets a cuddle from us!
