Puppy update …

Hey!! Izzy completed her 6week puppy class tonight she weighs in at 52lbs an doing great still working on our coming when called , she does it as she pleases 😆

Let me apologize for the long post and rant first but I’m just a bit irritated. So I had a family contact me about a puppy . This was through AKC . After speaking with the mom for a few days talking about how they lost their other dog to cancer awhile back and how awful that is for a family we set up a time yesterday for her and her husband and 3 kids to come see the pups , parents etc . The family was local ( same city) They was all here in my home for over and hour playing with the puppies and interacting with the parents . They “fell in love with Lily” . They wanted to go to Rural King and get some puppy supplies ( crate, leash , gate etc ) . I advised them that taking the pup out anywhere until they are completely vaccinated is not a good idea . So I offered to keep the pup here while they went and got all the puppy supplies they needed . They agreed and went off to get what was needed. They contacted me about 2 pm and said they had gotten everything and could they come pick her up ? Absolutely, I will be home all day . 10 mins later they are here to get Ms Lily. We talked some more about crate training and I asserted any question they had and off they went . Fast forward to 8 pm last night . They had had Lily for about 6 hours . The mom calls me and says I’m sorry but the kids have been crying all night because they miss their dog that had died of cancer and she just don’t think they are ready to live another dog .
WOW . Never in my whole life . She asked if she could return the puppy ? 🤦‍♀️ I was not happy as this puppy has now left my care and I’m not sure if she could have picked up anything in their yard etc . Of course I’m taking my pup back . I don’t ever want one of my puppies somewhere they are not wanted . So Ms Lily now has to be wormed , separate and vet checked again in 7 days for another health clearance because this family made a choice to bring another family member home then decided they aren’t ready quite yet . All costing me additional monies because of their bad decision making .
On a positive note I do have Ms Lily and she appears to be in good health and spirts . She was so happy to see us when they brought her back . We will continue to monitor her and will find her the right family after her clearance .

Ms. Lily went with her furever family today . She will be staying local and won’t be to far away . She’s going to be very loved.

Congratulations to the Sibal Family . Mr Puffy will be very loved and spoiled . He will have a big brother (Bernese MT Dog) and they will live their best life in PA.
