🦷🪥DONATIONS FOR DENTALS 🪥🦷 Just like people, horses also need to go to the dentist. Unlike equines, thankfully, we (humans) do not need our teeth filed! It is important to have your horse's teeth checked every year and schedule appropriate dental appointments per your veterinarian or equine dental specialist. Each dental or teeth floating per horse is approximately $100 (sometimes more).

KHAS is the permanent home to 6 horses and we are fundraising $600 to help cover our yearly dental costs. 🙏 We are on a mission to show that every animal is a keeper!

🧐 Do sheep need dental care like horses??? 🧐

Not needed for our sheep friends! Sheep are ruminants and chew cud, keeping their teeth from developing sharp edges and uneven wear. Sheep only have bottom incisors and a hardened dental pad on their upper jaw, but they still have back molars for grinding and chewing. Make sure to have plenty of hay or grass available to your sheep 🐑

The answer is NO! Cows, like other ruminants, chew cud. This keeps their teeth from developing sharp edges and uneven wear. Plus, cows only have bottom incisors and a hardened front gum pad on their upper jaw. Make sure to have plenty of hay or grass available to your cows 🐮 to keep them on the right track!
