Introducing our March HORSE OF THE MONTH: 💫LUNA💫

Luna is an (almost) 18 year old Paint mare. Her registered name is "Moonstreaks Legal". Her owner and partner in crime, Tena, got her 12 years ago when Luna's previous owner fell very ill and needed to find a good home for her. Luckily for Luna, she fell into very good hands with Tena, and they have been good pals and partners since.

Tena enjoys trail riding with Luna almost as much as she loves "just taking care of her". "She's a happy girl who wants to please - especially when there are treats involved." she says about Luna.

Luna is special to Tena because "She has a great personality!". Tena also appreciates that Luna is a hard worker and is "very friendly, but opinionated". "She likes other horses and makes new friends easily."

We are so happy to have this sweet mare at KiTerra Ranch (and her owner's pretty cool too 😉)! Please give miss Luna some extra love the next time you pass by her stall. 🩷

Thank you to everyone who attended obstacle clinic #4 with us on Friday! What a great day of building confidence as well as community! It was nice to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones!

We had some pretty fun (and scary!) new obstacles this week that offered horses and riders/handlers some healthy challenges!
An extra special thanks to Kirk and Terri McDonald for all their hard work designing and building our fun and fancy obstacles.
And a big thanks to our trainers, Heidi Begeot and Morgan Ehlenbeck for their endless support and guidance.

Our next obstacle clinic will be in two weeks, on Friday, March 7th. We hope to see you there! If you plan to attend, please RSVP with Terri to hold your spot. We still have a few spots available.

Check your calendars! Our March and February Obstacle Clinics are underway!
Obstacle Clinic #4 will be held on Friday, February 21st and due to scheduling availability in March, the next clinic will be two weeks later on Friday, March 7th. We hope you can join us for one or both!
There are limited spots available, so make sure to RSVP with Terri to hold your spot.

We'll be bringing back some of the hits from last month, like the bridge, the drag, the bubble machine, and a few others, plus we'll be adding a few new surprises for a healthy challenge!

Introducing KiTerra’s February
HORSE OF THE MONTH: ✨HONDO✨

Hondo is a 10 year old Quarter Horse and his owner, Laura has been his partner in crime for half his life.
Hondo was found by her daughter on a Craigslist ad in Texas and he joined the family when Laura’s husband bought him for her as a present! 💝

Laura and Hondo can regularly be seen riding the trails around the ranch, practicing arena work, and they are a regular pair at our monthly obstacle clinics. “He isn’t afraid of much and helps build confidence in me.” Laura says.

Hondo is special to Laura because, in her words: “He is one of the friendliest, loving, and kindest horses that I’ve been around. He is gentle to other people and horses. He is a people magnet.”

Laura and Hondo have been with KiTerra since the very beginning and have watched the barn grow and change over the last four years. We’re so happy to have them both!
If you see Hondo this month, blow him an extra kiss! 😘

Obstacle Clinic #3 was a hit! We had a full arena this past Friday afternoon, and everyone was all smiles as we tackled some fun and interesting challenges together including a brand new bridge setup (thanks, Kirk!), balloons, flags & spinners, a bubble machine, drags, and more!
Thank you to everyone who attended! With your support we're able to continue putting on fun events like this.
The date for next month's clinic will be announced soon, so stay tuned!

We’re excited to announce that KiTerra ranch has joined up with Mito Red Equine to help offer state-of-the-art red light therapy devices designed specially for horses!

Red light therapy is no stranger here at KiTerra. It has been a regular modality used by our team of professionals already for years to help our resident horses with faster injury recovery & prevention as well as pain relief & management.

One week ago today we had to make the tough and unexpected decision to say "Goodbye for now" to our sweet Panda girl. We will always remember her kind and quiet presence, her expressive eyes, and her distinctive bold personality. Our barn was truly blessed to have a horse like her.

Though in the end, we weren't able to see her all the way through the healing of her physical body, we trust that the special and attentive care that we were able to provide for her while she was here with us was enough to heal her heart from a rough past.

It's times like this that we are reminded that love truly is eternal and we know that she will be with us always. Rest in peace, sweet Panda.

We'd like to give a special thanks to our amazing team of bodyworkers, DVMs, farriers, and trainers who all devoted so much of their love, support, and care for her throughout her healing journey.

Our second Kiterra group obstacle clinic of the season was a success! Yesterday everyone was all smiles as we learned to navigate some new challenges under the guidance and support of our trainers Heidi Begeot and Morgan Ehlenbeck. We love to see both horses and riders build confidence and trust together!
