Part-Time Instructor-Trainer Position available to a highly unique, qualified individual. KiTerra Ranch in Cave Creek, AZ is looking to add on to our already existing team. This position is available primarily for evenings and weekends, although other time frames may become available.
Personal Qualifications:
- Over 21 years of age
- Professional demeanor
- Solid communication skills
- Carry own liability insurance, including our ranch as an Additionally Insured
- Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy
- First aid & CPR certification
Horse-Related Qualifications:
- MINIMUM 15 years horse experience
- Minimum 5 years experience giving lessons
- References for the trainers who trained you, as well as your former or current clients
- Any educational background related to this field - preference to those with experience or certification in CHA, ARIA, EAL/EAS, PATH, EAGALA, or behaviorist certs
We are particular on our equine welfare and ethics, which means we are looking for someone who aligns with our methods. Our barn is primarily retirees, trail riders, and those looking to just enjoy their horses. This is not a competition/show barn. We utilize a lot of positive reinforcement, trauma-informed methods, and behaviorism. The majority of the 30-horse barn is barefoot and bitless, however this is not required of the trainer coming on - but this gives you an idea of what we are like and what our expectations are. Rehab abilities are endless: two body workers board here who specialize in different modalities to make up basically every possible therapy available such as red light, cold laser, massage, etc. plus theraplate and magnawave. Saddle fitter also on site a few times a week. Various trimmers available. We have a holistic approach to our horses so we utilize everyone and everyone works great together - this would be the expectation of a trainer/instructor coming on board.
Facility Description:
10 acres with typically 30 horses boarded. Large arena with partial lighting. 60 ft round pen with lights. Obstacle course. Trails on property and directly from property. Bathroom and lounge area. Horses are free-fed grass hay in nets.
