Pride month already?
It sure is! Happy first day of Pride month!

Pride month is very important to me, here's some LGBTQ history:

In June of 1969, a group of LGBTQ people in New York City rioted because of a police raid of the Stonewall Inn (a gay bar in Greenwich Village).
This is one of the most significant events leading to the modern gay rights movement.
The following year in June, organized demonstrations took place in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco to mark the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
As the years went on, additional cities in North America and Europe began to hold their own public demonstrations or pride day, eventually leading to what we know today as a gay pride parade. 🏳️‍🌈

Today was amazing! Gunther went to his first Barn Hunt! He did so freaking well today. We had a blast.
It all happened so fast, we didn't get any pictures of Gunther's run, but he did get the fastest time of his class!

A very special THANK YOU to Cheryl who watched Gunnie so I could learn how to be a Rat Wrangler!

We learned a lot and had a great time.

I am so excited, next weekend is Gunther's first barn hunt competition!
We're going to Amana on Saturday.

We don't know what time we will run until the day of, but if you are interested in watching barn hunt the first dog starts their run at 9 AM on Saturday.

This silly dog. He makes me do silly things. Like think we can do dog sports. Then along comes barn hunt, and Gunther loves it! Not only that, but he’s a natural at it. He has drive and enthusiasm, and I love to watch him do this new thing.
So, meet a registered Barn Hunt dog. Eventually we will be able to enter Barn Hunt competitions now that he has a registration number. And for fun, I gave him a registered name!

Barn Hunt training!
As I come out of some health issues that have kept me from engaging with you wonderful people, I thought that this would be an amazing post.

I am so freaking excited about this. Gunther and his little friend Trunks had their first training session over the weekend.

It was Gunther's first time with barn hunt stuff and Trunks' first time seeing rat. 🐀🐁

Both dogs did so well! And we all had SO much fun!

It’s time for another big step for me!

If you missed my last update, Gunther and I are starting a business together. We are calling it Gunther’s Treats, and we are in the startup stages.

We are going to make freeze dried treats for humans that can be shared with our canine friends! We will also make pet-only treats, and no matter who the treats are geared towards (dog, cat, or exotic friend) our treats will be safe for dogs to eat.

I am excited to be taking this next step and sharing with you all!

Gunther’s Treats is officially an LLC, I’m emailing with a sales rep to get a freeze dryer put on layaway, and now it’s time for me to ask for support.

I have created a campaign page on ifundwomen.com in order to help make Gunther’s Treats a reality.

There are many ways to support on the site, but I am most excited about opening up for pre-orders!

I am going to offer a limited menu of treats that you will be able to order starting today. You can go through the ifundwomen site, or directly to Gunther’s Treats Venmo, Stripe, or PayPal. Just make sure to make a note of which treat you are wanting to order.

Well, today is a big day for me.
It has been an amazing whirlwind of work, but I am finally ready to share with you all some things I have been working on.

I have decided to start a business.

Gunther’s Treats

Gunther’s Treats exists to provide high quality, locally sourced pet treats to choosy pet owners. We want our customers to feel comfortable sharing their own treats with their pets.

Today I am hoping you will take a few minutes to read this, and maybe like the post so I can get some traction.

As my work pays off and plans come to fruition Gunther’s Treats is slowly starting to come to life.

Gunther’s Treats is a snack business that caters to owners who are choosy about what they feed to their pets. We will specialize in making freeze dried treats for humans that can be shared with our canine friends! We will also be making pet-only treats, including treats for our exotic friends. Our focus will be on the amazing Shop Local culture that the Cedar Falls community has. We will guarantee that all ingredients used are locally sourced. I want the pet owners that buy my treats to know they can be confident about where the food in the package comes from. It’s where they live.

HUGE update!

It has been a while since I have posted regularly, partly because of Gunther's health.
Gunther has had a mystery illness for about eight weeks now. Vague symptoms gave us very little to go on. Diagnostics have yielded very little information, and a course of steroids has helped very little.

The first week of December, Gunther broke a tooth.
Today was his oral surgery. He takes anesthesia hard, but the extraction was a success.

The tooth had been very badly broken, and it was infected.
The poor doctor doing the extraction had to drill tooth shards out of this poodle mouth.

The doctors and I are convinced this tooth has some sort of hairline fracture that happened at least a couple of months ago. I never saw it, and neither did his veterinarians on any of his exams that happened during this time. However, it is the only thing that explains all of his symptoms he has been having, and how badly infected the tooth was versus when he broke it.

Here's hoping that after bouncing back from anesthesia, he gets back to his normal self.

Our big fall news! Gunther and I have been accepted into the fall term. We're Wild Keepers! 🐩🍁

We work with the Keep Nature Wild community to pick up trash in our community.

In the last 2 weeks Gunther and I have picked up less than 10 pounds of trash (SO MUCH dog p**p).
A slow start, but we are having a good time with the community so far.

I am so happy about how this turned out. His blue leg warmers and Rainbow bottle brush tail are killing me. I love this, and I can't wait to post pictures of us together!

As always, my groomer outdid herself. You do amazing work, girl!

Gunther is wiped out! Behaving all day is hard work.
