Peggy would like to say a huge thank you to auntie Kate and auntie Robin for her cozy blankets. Peggy is one of the few that actually enjoys nesting with her blankets. She has woven them into her hay bed and I'm sure it has offered some comfort in this cold cold weather.🩷🙏❄️

Time sensitive! These babies need to get out today.

Sharing this post from Iowa Farm Sanctuary . This is the same industrial dairy farm that our last eight calves have come from. We too are not able to welcome anymore at this time but are hopeful that somebody can find space for one or both of them.

These are precious babies and they are so loving and yes they do grow into very big animals but if you raise them from a baby they remain sweet.

Please share widely and tag anyone you think could be a possible forever home. It sounds like if we can arrange something even down the road a bit they have a place to foster for a short time.

This! If I hear one more story about how farmers care so much about their animals on small family farms I'm going to puke. Regardless of the size of the farm this is exactly what happens over and over again. The cows are impregnated, give birth and have their babies taken away only for their milk to be stolen for humans who need none of it!

Jack and I had an amazing dinner at Temple Goddess Cafe / Adonis Burger. Eve and Gregory are magicians in the kitchen. Everything they touch turns to delicious.

Not only are they beautiful humans and amazing chefs but also care very much about animal welfare and advocacy. We are looking forward to hosting our second annual Beyond Burger Bingo in March, stay tuned for more details.

Until then run, don't walk to get some of their delicious food. Tonight I tried their Gyro for the first time and omg!

They gave us a kind gift of Rebel Cheese. I've been wanting to try their brie for so long and it did not disappoint.

I'm proud to be vegan but moreover recognize that it is so easy to make this shift. If you haven't tried some of these amazing products that are cruelty free and do not require the commodification of animals, please do. 🙏💚

Recently I've been trolled by so many defensive dairy farmers who clearly know what they're doing is wrong. The phrase "Thou doth protest too much" is one that rings in my ears. If they were so confident about the way that they treat their animals I'm certain they would care very little about what we do here in sanctuary.

No matter how you slice it, if you are commodifying an animal for your own benefit, you are not prioritizing their needs. Cows are not meant to be forcibly impregnated, give birth and have their babies taken away, over and over again until they can't do it anymore and then they're sold for cheap meat.

I'm proud of the 14 lives we've saved from this insidious industry. The babies we have here and have fostered and found a new home are going to live a beautiful long life.

It's a very cold night. I can't help but think what all the littles in calf huts alone are feeling tonight. This girl is inside with a heat lamp and bedding and food and water and she just had a warm bottle and she sucked on my fingers and I gave her lots of cuddles and love.

This is the best life she can have. It would be better to be with her mother of course but that would never happen in the dairy industry. I am the best substitute she can have for someone who will love and nurture her. I adore her as I do all of my sweet babies.

Tonight she will sleep comfortably and peacefully despite the cold. In the morning I will open the door and I will say good morning babies. I will have her warm bottle and she will once again know that she can count on me and that her future is bright.

Oh farmers care so much about their animals! They are commodified, that means that they equal money. There is no kindness in this industry, only selfishness and cruelty.
