10 yr old, 15.1 hand grulla QH gelding! Not papered. He’s an awesome horse with a ton of potential. Super sweet, easy to catch, and ties great.
He needs a more intermediate to advanced rider to bring him along but has potential to be more of a beginners horse with more miles and work.

I wanted to make an update on Malibu.
We dropped out of the TIP Challenge due to gas prices rising, I just couldn’t justify close to $1000 in fuel for the competition. She’s enjoying the life in the field at the moment!

Rides well wtc, needs work on softening and collecting. Easy to handle, ties, loads in the trailer, picks up all four feet great. She is super sweet! Just needs miles, muscle, and a little more weight. Intermediate rider. Originally had her listed as a project but her price has gone up with more work!

Malibu had her first off farm trip yesterday and was amazing! She was so calm the entire time and stood well at the trailer!

I saddled Malibu again today and we even went and tied to the rail saddled! Picked up all four feet and started brushing her tail out. She got a blanket on for the first time and she was very confused 🤣

Easy to handle on the ground and quiet riding. Picks up all four feet and is shod all the way around. Traffic safe and trail rides great! He can be the lead or be a follower. Rides low headed and willing to go through anything with some encouragement. He would be a great ranch horse!

Confident beginner safe with potential to be a quiet beginners horse with a little more miles but he can also pick it up for someone wanting to do more advanced work.

Whiskey’s third time with me on him and first time in the arena - this is the first time I’ve asked for more movement too. The other times were just small steps inside the barn.
He puts up with me so well 🤣

Malibu has been doing super well! Still working on picking up her back feet although she is getting better with it. We picked up all four feet tied the other day. We have also been working on trotting in hand. She is picking it up and getting better with that, although still does not like to do it. She can lead out of the round pen and will get tied. She moved into a different pen (still a small one, but something new!). What videos would people like to see of her?

Whiskey had his first ride. Short and sweet, just took a few steps around. He is doing awesome. I’ve raised him from the ground up so getting on him was a pretty exciting thing for me! Would anyone be interested in seeing videos and updates of him through his training also?

Malibu had her first saddling!
This is not a requirement for the competition but it is just something I am playing around with. She is lazy as all get up and I want to put some rides on her to get her feet moving a little more!

The last few sessions have been lots of leading, touching, picking up feet. We have been working on her working a little quicker with her feet instead of dragging them around. We had our first trip out of the round pen into the yard and she did great!

Day 5
We didn’t do anything too exciting. So no video. But we just continued picking up the front feet, touching her back legs with the rope, and leading. Touching her all over again also. She lead through the gate today! It took a few minutes but we got it done!

Day 3 with Malibu
We started leading well. Her feet are still slow, but that comes with time. We did some round penning beforehand, which she did well!
I just wanted to say - she is easy going and sweet, but still has her moments. She can be mouthy and still has her reactive moments like all wild horses.
