Thank you to everyone who has been collecting flat boxes, newspapers, and towels for me!! 🥰
We finally made a stop at the Denham Springs Animal Shelter today to drop off our donations. While there, we got to play with some of the cats & kittens that are available for adoption (or soon available).
A worker told me that they desperately need HEAVY BOWLS; like ceramic bowls or metal bowls that sit in ceramic. Something heavy enough that kittens can't knock them over. And big enough that it can be filled once, maybe twice, a day. (Versus every hour)

They also welcome anyone who wants to come play & socialize with the cats/kittens any day from 11am to 2pm. So, if your kids are bored this summer, (and they're old enough to not chase) feel free to make a trip out to River Rd in DS!!

This cutie patootie will be available for adoption this summer!! ❤️❤️❤️

"Honey" is a 3 year old, female, Guinea Pig. In true GP fashion, Honey is a bit shy at first, but warms up to you quickly. She has lived her whole life in a school setting, so she's definitely used to being around kids.

Guinea Pigs require unique care & special food. While offering pellet food is good, Honey also needs constant access to hay as well as a daily intake of greens & vegetables, and occasionally fruit. She does use a litter box, but occasionally gets nervous and poops under her hideout. So her new owner would have to be willing to clean up her area every day.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kelsey yesterday while she cut my wild dogs' nails. If anyone out there owns a Basset Hound, then you know the struggle is real!!!! 🥴
Kelsey did great and remained calm & friendly the whole time. She's a registered vet tech, so she can handle anything from cutting nails, to cleaning ears, expressing a**l sacs, and even administrating IV fluids.
If bringing your dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, or exotics to the vet or groomer for a simple nail trim is a pain, then call Kelsey instead. She comes to you!! It saves you the time and hassle of traveling and loading.

One of my clients has gone into Hospice care and desperately needs to find homes for 2 of her 3 older cats. The daughter is taking one of the cats, but she already has two of her own and can't take on 5 total.
"Tiger", the orange tabby, is super sweet. He definitely loves attention and to be brushed. He was recently diagnosed with diabetes but the daughter is willing to pay for his meds for a while. I believe he only gets 1 shot a day. Giving an insulin shot is super easy and I can show you how.
"Rosalee", the dark tabby, is shy but will eventually warm up to you and come out of hiding. She gained weight over this past year but is slowly loosing some of it and getting healthier.
I'm not sure how they would do in a house with other cats or dogs. So it might be best if they're the only ones. Although it would be ideal, they don't necessarily have to go to the same home.

These cats would not do well in a shelter setting, nor as outdoor/barn cats. Which is why the daughter is reaching out to me for help. Cat Haven turned her down last fall because the health of the cats was unknown. Now that they've been seen by a vet, she is going to reach back out to them. But in the meantime, I said I would share and ask around.

Both cats are up to date on shots & flea meds.
So, if you know a friend looking for an older cat (not a rambunctious kitten) or a senior citizen who wants a lap companion, please, PLEASE, have them reach out to me at (225) 205-9846.

✔️if you are under 18 and driving we ask that your parents are aware that you’ll be volunteering/driving.

✔️egging will be on 3/30/24 between 7-10pm 🐣

✔️ eggs will be batched and labeled with address for you. You should enter in each address and map your route prior to getting on the road. Your addresses will be emailed to you prior to meet up date as well.

My son is having oral surgery on Wednesday, April 3rd. 🦷

I have experience in handling horses, ponies, cows, donkeys, chickens, goats, rabbits, pigs, and even exotics like camels, hedgehogs, and (almost all) reptiles.

Just this morning I got to hang out with these Kunekunes and feed them some greens from my client's garden.

Denver is now available for adoption at the Denham Springs Animal Shelter. ❤️🐾

I've met Denver and he is the sweetest dog! He jumped when he first met me, but settled down pretty quickly. After that, he was either laying at our feet or leaning his whole body against me for affection. He is around 3 years old, is neutered, and is heartworm negative.
His foster family has young kids and he did fine with them. They also have a cat and farm animals. He got excited when he saw the cat but was not aggressive. Additional training or controlled exposure may be needed if his future family already has a cat or cats. His previous owner had him in a fenced yard. His foster mom did not. While he loved hanging outside with the family, he did occassionally wander off. So, a fenced backyard would be the best way to contain his curiosity.
Oh, and he is already kennel trained and house trained!!
He is currently around 55lbs.
