Over the last couple weeks we have sent 5️⃣ puppies off to their new homes!

Way over due LITTER announcement - woah it’s been a busy last few months.

Our Saige x Moose puppies are growing up fast!
A total of 9 arrived on May 7th (5 females and 4 males). They will be ready for their forever homes the first weekend in July 🥰

Y’all … let’s talk bunnies.
Never did I ever imagine we would have rabbits on the farm but here we are, the boys talked me into it (but let’s be real here - it’s not hard to talk me into anything animal related) And oh.my.goodness 🥰😍

Ryland has 7 Holland lop babies (not pedigreed) and they are just the cutest thing ever. Currently 3 weeks old, they will be ready for new homes just in time for the Easter bunny to deliver 😉

This post is a tough one to write, and one not taken lightly and has been thought hard on and prayed over for a while now - but is best decision for my family. Be gentle friends … this is not an easy thing to do (for those who know me - know how hard this is for me)

I have decided to put my 3.5yr old male blue merle “Rip” up for discussion to the best fit home/family - and to no fault of his own. Due to some changing circumstances, the puppy market the way that it is, feed cost continuing to rise, the time, etc. I need to or should downsize my program at the farm.

He is a super sweet and fluffy boy. He would be great to train on cattle (he has the drive but never “worked”). He is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and AKC registered.

He is lovable and cuddly, crate/house trained (aside from being an intact male). He loves being outside where he does spend most of his time.

My sister-in-law who is also a small animal veterinarian shared this story.
Grains are so so so important for a dogs diet, and a “complete” dog chow is necessary for a healthy and increased life span!

Since mid July majority of the girls have been free loaders 😩🤦🏻‍♀️
It was either too hot, or they were battling a brief respiratory infection, and I’ve been dealing with the longest molt ever 🥴 all while waiting for the April and June hatchlings to start laying.

But now … these rich colored eggs I’m starting to get was well worth the wait 🥰

We have gone through the summer heat and a 16 week molt and my girls are still being stringy with their egg laying … next up - too many Roos 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

From our hatched stock this spring, I have some roosters available before they get culled.
All hand rised and all are “nice”. If anyone knows me, knows that I don’t keep mean roosters, any signs of that, they don’t stay on the farm long. I would not be offering these handsome guys as available if I didn’t think they would be a nice addition to any ones back yard flock.

I also have a handful of 2 yr old (some 3yrs) laying hens available, variety of breeds but still laying.

Y’all this sweet boy is still looking for his furever home!

He is pretty solid at crate training, and working on nailing down our commands (difficult when he doesn’t have a set name 😂). He absolutely loves water and belly scratches. He has his puppy moments but is over all quiet and chill. He will be handsome and built like his daddy.

Please let me know if you’re interested, some things have come up and I am open to reasonable offers as he is the last pup from the 5/28 litter.

This handsome boy we call “Honor” is still looking for his furever family.

He is doing fantastic at crate training, no accidents and can go all night. He’s quiet but playful. Loves to run circles around your feet. He will be a great family pet, working dog or agility. He will be tall and long, he is built like his daddy.

In true fashion, I am a day late on the “National Dog Day” post. But when you have as many dogs as we do …. It’s hard to decide on just a couple pictures 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

So here is a montage….not of just the current 8 we have on the farm (6 Aussies and 2 Pyrenees) - but also thinking of that first Aussie, Emma, that I had over 20 years ago, and her babies (one litter and 6 out of the 7 stayed in the family😂) and her babies babies who I still have one, Bo. They are the reason I love this breed so much - beautiful, intelligent, driven, agile and obedient.

But also thinking of those I’ve fostered and rescued and found homes for. Not knowing their past and taking them in and finding them furever homes. The puppies who I’ve sent off, and the amazing families who have loved on them.

Dog Day is every day 🥰 and I couldn’t imagine life any other way!!

“Bo” is a velcro Aussie in truest form and I wouldn’t want him any other way. 🥰

I’m trying to let him do as much as his joints will let him do at 15yrs old - so he tagged along on the family camping trip this weekend, living his best life for as long as he can.

This goodbye was bitter sweet. Liberty reminded me so much of my first Aussie, Emma, who is responsible for my love of this breed.

Now named Kona, she is headed home to STL with her furever family. I am looking forward to watching this beauty grow up in a home with this wonderful “first time dog owner” family. Thank you to the Cox family for choosing CCF for your first Aussie (or dog in general 😉).
