Karen and her service dog (in-training) Sadie, a Pointer, did an excellent job demonstrating their skills today at New Life Thrift store, and Arby's. They passed the CGCA test, and all the optional tests too- like elevators, and doing a down-stay in lobby. She also quietly laid at Karen's side while we ate lunch in the restaurant. Sadie is excelling at picking up dropped items for Karen, and helping her with mobility--and has over 100 hours of training at this time.. Moving along beautifully!

From the Rally Novice class, we have two titlist each earning the 3 legs required for the RN title: Sharan with Daisy, a Goldendoodle; and my boy, Paco. Next: Intermediate for rally, and Sharan is soon testing Daisy for therapy dog!

Happy Tails is open for the new year 2024! We have been blessed again with many new clients. The January classes were filled in December, and it looks like February will be filled as soon as I announce the start dates. We opened the training center in 2011 when Remy was just coming into his prime as a performance dog. What a great little dog! He has since retired, and is enjoying his golden years. I too retired from nursing a few years ago, but for over 40 years dog training is what I have always done for fun. I want to enjoy my golden years doing what I love, so Happy Tails will continue to operate as a part-time business—I always want it to be fun! We are open by appointment only—Closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is a monthly newsletter on the webpage that announces courses, etc. Thanks for your support! ---deb
