We went to Auntie Christel's house today to supervise her holiday preparations. We pbly should've taken more pictures of the actual food (it was gorgeous) but... 🤷🏽♀️ Merry Christmas Eve everybody!!

One of my favorite things to find under the tree! Sonny has had a very very ruff 2024 (getting old and medical 'puzzles' can suck it) but he's remained sweet as can be despite all the tests, poking, prodding and never-ending symptoms. All he wants for Christmas is a solution that makes him feel better, is that too much to ask?? 🤞🤞❤️💚

Saturdays were absolutely MADE for snuggling with adoptable doggos (I had my devil's horns on trying to get this sweet girl home with Amy), giving back (making dog toys for ), supporting besties and their HUGE day of volunteer events in the and catching up with girlfriends. Thanks for joining me Amy Sue & Tina!

My favorite and very complicated photography hack... Put your cat trees in front of windows with great light. You're welcome. 😉

When you lose a pet, some things are harder to let go of than others. This cat tree has seen MUCH MUCH better days, and it is absolutely one of those things. It's 19+ years old, and is the first cat tree I bought Romeo when he came into my life. Some of my favorite pics of him are in that cat tree. He LOVED that cat tree, and as a result, BENTLEY has come to love that cat tree. BUT there was no amount of cleaning that was going to save that cat tree, so today was the day. I gathered my resolve and my assistants and put together the new tree (that I've had in my house for 2yrs) and dismantled the old. Not gonna lie, I shed a tear for that old gross thing... for the white fur that still graced it and the memories made with it. Oof, I sure do miss that sweet old kitty. There's just never enough time. xoxo 💔💔

Soooo grateful to be able to see my nephew play high school football here in Arizona tonight . It didn't end they way we wanted but the experience was priceless. And that sunset?? No filters and

It's been four years.
Four years of getting the stink ear daily.
Four years of those massive murder mittens dragging in every lizard, cricket, and bird they can get their toe beans on.
Four years of chewing through absolutely every thin cord in the house (or straw, or plastic, or chip bag).
AND
It's been four years of gratitude for the love and attention he gave Romeo before he passed.
Four years of laughter when he violently head bunts Enzo and Sonny as they wait patiently for dinner.
And four years of love bite reminders to stay in the moment... and give more pets!
Happy Birthday B!! 🥰

Liv turned 11 today. ELEVEN!! We celebrated by chasing the sunset. 🥰 It seems like just yesterday that she and her sister Sparkle were brought into , huddled in the back of a cat carrier, eyes as big as saucers. They were too too skinny, matted, and covered in tiny seed ticks. Within a week I took them both to foster, and frankly the rest is history! Aside from tiring faster on walks/hikes (me too girl), and a little more gray on her face, you'd never guess she was solidly into her senior years. I don't know how many years we have left, but I'll cherish every moment until then. We're looking forward to celebrating with Sparkle & soon!

This is for our AZ Furrriends, anybody in the market for a sweet, house-trained, adorable pup? Or able to foster? Or help get him into a rescue? A friend found him in their neighborhood (Germann/Higley) a couple of days ago and they've been keeping him safe, but their resident pup isn't wild about having another pup in the house. No chip, no collar, and they've posted in loads of Facebook groups but no luck so far. Vet estimates him to be 3ish yrs old, with no obvious health concerns. Comment if you have any ideas or have a lead on somebody that can help! If not, please share and send him some positive juju for a soft furever landing. ❤️ 🐾 🏠 🙏

Sometimes an Instagram template just demands participation. 🤷♀️ Enzo completed this one perfectly, right?? 🥰

Oh Murph Smurph, happy 12th birthday you ornery, adorable sh*ht. You have always been such a contradictive puzzle, and as such- there has always been a consistent stream of worry on my heart for your life as you age.
You hate to eat, doing so only when absolutely necessary, and trying to predict WHAT you're willing to eat on any given day is an exercise in futility. Medications and supplements only enter your body if you dein to eat them. Pilling and liquid meds are NOT an option. You want help off the couch, but 90% of the time the actual assist is met with a snarly attempt to bite my face off.
And yet, and maybe even because of the drama, I adore you to absolute pieces. Even with a body riddled with disc disease and arthritis, and progressing kidney disease... you 🥰 to talk to and toss your toys around. You'll still periodically wear yourself out (to the point of all-out panting) making sweet, sweet love to your larger fluffy toys. You still get soooo squeaky and excited for walks/adventures, even though your legs can't keep up with the pace that your brain wants to keep. And your absolute favorite things in the entire world are car rides. Is there anything better than an open window during a car ride?!? Not in Smurph's book!
So here's 🥂 to the 12th year of life, and 9th Gotcha Day with my angry, adorable Chief of the Fun Police. ❤️ you to the 🌙.
(I'm also throwing out this fervent wish that THIS is the year Murphy decides to become a better patient. Fingers and paws crossed!)

I'm incredibly relieved to report that after a week of treatment, Sonny has found the corner and is doing just a little bit better!! (Meaning I no longer have the pit of fear in my stomach that I was going to lose him.)
Thanks for ALL the thoughts and prayers. His breathing is still too fast, but it's regular both when he's sleeping and awake (which was the biggest challenge... his O2 levels weren't staying level and there were times of struggle, especially when he was sleeping). He still has pain from the pancreatitis and we have many other things to figure out, but for today... we're just incredibly grateful that some of the sassy shihtzu spark is back in his eyes (er, 'eye'😆). 🥳
🙏
01/23/2024
Don't let this adorable face fool you, he is a sick, sick little monkey. What started as not eating well and heavy breathing last Wednesday, progressed to a pancreatitis diagnosis Friday, a trip to (and 12h stay at) the ER on Saturday night, where we added a healthy dose of pneumonia for good measure. (Where we also discovered that the GOOD that a hospital stay might do can be quickly cancelled out by a petrified and panicked shihtzu.)
We went back to our regular vet this am, mostly for another set of eyes and reassurance that it can in fact take this long to see improvement, and that he WASN'T going to die imminently (though I'm honestly, still not convinced... these breathing irregularities are absolutely brutal to watch and listen to.🫣) And then trying to keep him eating...and taking his 18k different meds on a schedule and today we added steamy showers and coupage to the mix. (Coupage is essentially playing drums on his chest, very deliberately to loosen the gunk in his lungs, which as you might imagine, went over like a fart in church with the one-eyed wonder. 🥴)
So all this to say, we are having FUN over here, are you jealous?!? 😭😭 Please keep us both in your thoughts, prayers, and juju vibes... we'll take them all. Last night was rough. Fingers crossed that tonight is an improvement.
bloodycorner?!?

Oh these brutal Arizona winters. 😉ALMOST makes us forget about the 31 consecutive days of 110°+ last summer. Almost.

A throwback pic to 2018 🥰
So here's to 2024 🥂. A year to live in the moment, grow and change with courage, and enjoy every single solitary second of the time we have with our loved ones.
Happy New Year!

Liv got to join us for Christmas dinner and she was an adorable addition to an amazing Christmas meal. Thanks to for including us. You are undeniably the hostess with the mostest. The table settings were gorgeous, the ginger cake was to DIE for, and the company is always perfect.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

We LOVE our furry family, we want to live our best life together, and we can’t help but share what we learn and love with others.
Tami (Mom) is the human that was rescued by this adorable herd of furries. She’s a rescue advocate, entrepreneur, dreamer, and photographer- and has a passion for all things dog & cat. Her full-time side hustle is insurance. :)
Seven rescues make up the Crazy...
Murphy - 7yo white shihtzu: finicky, bossy, friendly, has a human foot-fetish (haha!)
Sonny - 7’ish yo one-eyed cream/white shihtzu: very vocal, snuggly, excitable
Olivia - 6yo brown morkie’ish mutt: sweet, cooperative, independent, trooper
Enzo - 5yo blue-eyed lhasa mutt: tentative, prefers dogs to people (unless they have food)
Romeo - 14yo ragdoll/siamese mix: loves everybody, vocal, diabetic (in remission)
Juliet - 13yo gray/white dmh beauty: loves to dole out love bites, a big smidge neurotic
Aliekat - 6y cross-eyed lynx point siamese: food motivated, fatty mcfatty pants, & adorable
We have two guardian angels that are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge, Daisy (neapolitan mastiff) & Cookie (brown tabby).
If you’re here, you love furkids too... in fact, you’re probably a little crazy about them. We love that about you. Here’s to livin’ the crazy!
