HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO…

Animal lovers, never make the mistake of throwing cold water on an overheated dog or putting a wet towel on his back. You will see the opposite effect.

Due to the cold, the veins contract and due to the high temperature (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood clot, which makes the blood thick and viscous.
Due to the combination of the two, the heart can no longer get the blood and the organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.

The result is a very slow but very painful death.
If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, he will still die.

First give lukewarm water to drink, then cool the soles of the feet and chest/lower abdomen with a damp towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a damp towel!!

Sharing is highly desirable because again and again we see images of overheated dogs getting out of a car with water poured on their backs ❎

Orange County Animal Services will be holding low-cost Rabies vaccination and microchip clinics for your pets on Saturday, February 18 from 9am to noon. Clinics will offer 1-year and 3-year vaccinations for $10. Pet owners will need to have a previous rabies certificate in hand to receive the 3-year vaccine. A tag alone is not sufficient. Microchips will also be offered at these clinics for $35 each. Pet owners can choose to have a pet receive only a microchip, only a rabies vaccine, or both. Please make sure dogs are on leashes and cats are in carriers. They will accept cash or credit cards as payment. You do not need to be an Orange County resident to attend these events.

Hey, Doggie Spa Clients! Do you know anyone local who is looking for a great parttime job? We are looking for excellent front office help. The position is approximately 16 to 18 hours per week, with more hours possible later. The schedule would begin with 8am to 10am AND 3:30pm to 5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and possibly 8am to 10am on Saturdays.
The position requires you to love dogs and be comfortable around dogs of all types. You must be patient and reliable, excel at customer service and communication, and have a great sense of humor. Reliable transportation is a must. Availability during holiday periods, local school breaks, and the busy summer travel season is a requirement.
Pay starts at $15/hour.
