Posting because some of you have met him, and you won't be seeing him anymore. I don't want to talk about it, but last night, less than a week after his 11th birthday, Hawkeye left us. On Christmas Eve he was diagnosed with late stage cancer, probably hemangiosarcoma, and it progressed quickly. I took this picture 12/27/24.

Hey, I've been neglecting this page but I have some ideas for what I hope will be informative posts and cute pictures. If there's anything in particular you'd like more information on, let me know! Currently I'm working on puppy training for grooming and things you can do to help your dog be comfortable with grooming.

I did also just learn from a post by Akita My Heart, LLC that there is apparently a scam going around claiming to be grooming businesses and demanding prepayment via Venmo. While I do accept Venmo, you will not get a surprise request for money from me. Be careful out there!

And watch out for gators in your living rooms (or wild puppies who will be demo dogs for future posts)!

How's your weekend going? We're glad to be getting a little rain on the pastures, and I'm having another continuing education day with in a Clip, Strip, and Snip Certificate Course. My canine and feline supervisors are sleeping through it, enjoying not being in the bathtub today. :)

We're now carrying products, and my border collies thought we should demonstrate how well the Polisher/Detangler works! There were 12 minutes between these two pictures, and all I used was the MLH Polisher and a Greyhound-style comb. Since I'm always out driving around, just let me know if you want to try it and I can meet you or deliver if I'm in your neighborhood!

Look what followed me home today! He's a standard poodle, almost 8 months old, black and white parti colored. I am accustomed to border collies so he seems very mellow to me. He needed a safe place to land, and we've been kinda casually keeping an eye out for a miniature poodle. Rather than let him land in a shelter, we took him in. I wanted to say I was fostering him but he is an awfully nice dog, and he's not that much bigger than a mini... We'll see. He's safe and will continue learning while he decides if he wants to keep us. :) He came with a name that is already in use in our family, so we're looking for name ideas! Don't base it on color because poodles commonly fade quite a bit. Edit: from what I'm reading, I think he will probably actually stay black, but I still want to avoid color-based names in case I'm wrong. I'm no expert on canine coat color genetics.

This is Shady. He is a Whoodle, though he definitely inherited his coat from the poodle side of his pedigree. He is a wonderful, joyful, medium-sized dog and I'm so glad I get to be a part of his life! I have the best job, and I get to meet some of the best people and pets there are!

We have power back, and have collected the remains of the roof. These are the pieces that didn't fit in the dumpster. I hope everyone else is also making their way back toward normal. Thanks to all the hardworking crews out there!

Well, yesterday sure was interesting! We're all ok here, but the roof that should be on this 40' x 16' shed is scattered across our hay field and our neighbors' yard 1/4 mile away. So far no power or cable/internet, and the cell signal is very weak and intermittent. So if you need to reach me, text is your best bet and I will get back to you if/when I get the messages! I hope everyone is ok. Be careful out there!

This was a poodley week! :) Bear is getting his adult coat, and getting more and more comfortable with the grooming process. (He's not the most naturally brave dog in the world but he's super sweet!) I got to see my friend Fiyero too but I didn't get a picture of him. He is a well-loved very senior mini poodle who is at the stage where we do what we need to do to make him comfortable and hygienic while minimizing stress. Both of these boys have really great owners who do everything they can to make their dogs' lives wonderful. I am honored to be a trusted member of their care teams.

Trying again without the website link because Facebook thinks I'm trying to trick you. Is anyone I know going to be at the Regatta Classic Shows July 11 through 14 ? I have some prior commitments but I'm hoping to get there at least once or twice!
