Briggs Adoptions

Briggs is a popular place where many people want to come to adopt an animal. This is because we are known for loving and taking the utmost care of the animals we receive. We provide the highest standard of medical care to each animal before it is placed for adoption. That’s also why so many people want to surrender dogs and cats to us. However, because we don’t euthanize a healthy animal just to make room for a more popular or more easily-adoptable animal, we often only have a few pups, kittens or popular breeds at any given time. Adopting an animal is a very emotional process and no one is more aware of that than the staff at Briggs.

When we have one adorable puppy or kitten available, we can, and do, receive as many as 20 applications on just that one animal in a day. This is why we state that we will choose what we feel would be the “best match” between the applicants’ lifestyle, home environment and the animal’s personality. We are upfront at the beginning of the application process and ask that if the applicant doesn’t agree with our process, that they don’t continue moving forward with the application. We wish we had the room and money to save many puppies and kittens at one time but we rely on our donation income to staff our building and help the animals. We ask that if you do not receive the animal you are looking at here, please go to another shelter, possibly animal control or a “kill” shelter and save another life. Thank you.
